With the discovery of cultivation, Joan has now found a faster and more efficient way to be stronger, as the Grandmaster of all classes back in his world Almaria, he knows how to unlock the four basic elements, fire, lightning, water, earth, and wind. He mastered them as he was building his mage class and he knew that it would be hard for the class if it doesn't have any elemental affinity attuned to each spell.
It will be impossible to cast a fire spell without the fire element. Not all the persons in his past life and world, Almaria, have such elements as he had, normal people and even some heroes would usually only have one or two elements attuned naturally to their body and these elements will be their elements for the rest of their lives. Joan, on the other hand, is a different case because he found a way to unlock all possible elements one can master.
This was the catalyst to him being able to master all the Job class of their world.
Back to the new world, as Joan explores the elements in his surroundings and his body, he noticed that he had no affinity for any element. The past Joan wasn't born with any element which explains why the old man struggled to use [Heal] spell on his wound.
Even though it was not normal for him to do it. It still happened because his soul remembers the spell and contains the elemental affinities that Joan had back in Almaria.
In his room, dimly lit with a candle, he sat in a lotus position and focused. He needs to be in a trance like state to achieve elemental affinity first.
Condensing first the elements from his surroundings, collecting small bits and pieces of natural elemental energy floating around his room and outside their house. Slowly, he gathered it into his body. Without knowing how long it took him to collect them.
All he could feel was the pressure, and the surge of energy which made his body perspire on the process of condensing the elements. Knowing full well how hard and tiring it was to gather them all up.
He collected these small bits of energy in a process that only works with focus, a calm mind, and senses that are keen. Even with eyes closed, he can visualize his surroundings in a monochromatic color, however, small glows of green, brown, red, and other colors would emerge, these are the natural elements that he is collecting. Once he sees the specks of essence of the elements, he collects them by slowly seeping the floating element to his body.
He collected first the basic elements like Fire element, Lighting element, Wind element, Earth element, and last, Water element. Their essence was small, and he still has to cultivate them in order to make it his own and use it.
Now that he has it, it must be extracted as it will vanish to thin air when left behind. Time was at hand, and Joan knew that time doesn't wait for anyone, he immediately started to make use of the specks of elements.
First was the Fire element, imagining its form and structure. He manages to create a small kindling flame on his fingertips.
He smiled as it was able to create such fire. He mastered the element as if it was an element that his body was born and has affinity with.
Creating the small fire in his fingertips was as easy as breathing for him.
The fire element has other forms too. Joan created small sparks of fire, some small fireballs that explodes every time he uses them. He also made a small flame that was still and straight, as if a ray of laser, and extinguished it afterwards.
Next was heat, as he focused once more, not only his fingertips was emitting an orange glow, but his entire body was emitting strong heat. The air in the surroundings went hot and so he stopped there.
'A great success! This leads to another step, and if the Fire element is a success, then the other elements will be too!'
He went to the next element which was the Lightning. He cultivated the tiny essence he collected and made a spark on his fingertips as he slowly stabilizes the crackling sparks
He felt that the element was surging in his body, and it was even able to make his hairs stand up.
Even more so, he finds it entertaining as it made a tingling sensation on his head. Making his blue hair spiky like a pineapple crown.
It was hard at first but with patience, he managed to make it his own.
It crackles in his arms, and he was looking at it with awe. The sparks were like living snakes slithering and crackling from his fingertips to his arms, the mosquitos that were flying close to Joan fell due to the static from the sparks.
They became conductors and the quaint smell of burnt blood was all over the place. Making his nose itch from the smell.
Despite the itch, he wasn't too bothered by it and moved on to the next element. Having two elements was very impressive by itself and having more than two elements is more than just impressive.
However, it will be a problem if someone knew of his elements, and he still can't defend himself.
The next element on his mind was the Wind element. With him having the essence, started his cultivation. Just like the first two elements, it was very easy to handle but as he progresses to more elements it becomes harder to cultivate.
But nothing is impossible to Joan who mastered two elements in one sitting. Starting from making the wind essence bigger and denser and then incorporating it within himself.
Slowly encircling it to his mana well just around his abdomen. In just a minute, the Wind element essence incorporated within the mana well.
He cultivated it for another minute or two until he managed to make it his own. He then gathered the element on his palm, and he made a ball of wind. Seeing it with his own eyes, he can only smile at the process.
It was very satisfying for him, but he was still not halfway there. Many elements were still waiting for him.
He went to the next element which was the Earth element. He cultivated the essence that he collected and started to make it his own.
Repeating the same process with the wind element, he incorporated it in his mana well that he managed to absorb it.
Once again, it was hard at first since he was never born with any of the elements that he cultivated at all. He can only wipe his sweat from the tiring process.
He managed to make it his own and he was happy about it. He made a small rock on his palm and then put it beside him.
Also creating a piece of earth and turning it into mud and to his other hand was sand. Since he already knew the form, shape, and texture he was able to comprehend the elements to their peak.
The last element he wanted to master for that night was the Water element. He cultivated the essence, struggling at first but manages once again just by breaking little sweats.
He managed to stabilize it and made it his own. Creating a ball of water on his palm made him smile in the process.
Also turning it to steam and ice on both his hands while staring at both.
'Now that I have the basic elements, I am one step closer to my goal. I should proceed to the unique elements,' Joan whispered in his mind.
'I need to master all job class to be prepared for all enemies. Knowing that God has a reason why he made me transmigrate here, to defeat the demons and end their realms in this world. He also said that I will find it more difficult to survive here this time as the enemies are stronger. I gotta be prepared at all costs,' he mustered his strength as he proceeds to the Unique elements.
