It was already five in the evening and Orva wanted to leave so she could take some rest at a cafe before resuming her night job in Mrs Mendez's shop. Darlene and a few other staff were cleaning up the store and also attending to some customers before they called it a day. Orva came out of the locker room where her possessions were been stored and went to inform Darlene she would be leaving early since the manager was a scarce face for all she cared.
"Darlene… I need to close early if that's okay with you." Orva went up to the counter where she was attending the only customer checking out.
"Sure it is fine by me, but I want to remind you not to get swiped off by Mr stranger." Darlene wriggled her eyebrows at her in a knowing way and Orva just rolled her eyes.
"Oh- please, Darlene sometimes you can be too much to handle."
"Why do you think we are workers?" Darlene proudly pat her chest and flipped her hair to the back.
