"You know Father could not do anything if you have said no," Yazmine told Jacob as she offered Jacob tea.
He was still sitting at the settee. He took it and sipped.
"This is such an imposition. Also, you should've accepted the compensation," she said as she walked behind him.
Jacob smiled. "It is fine. I wanted to protect you anyways." He placed the teacup on the table and followed her movements with his loving gaze.
"There was another attempt three weeks ago. You know how worried I get," he reasoned. "And why would I accept compensation when you're the one I'm protecting. Isn't it my obligation considering the nature of our relationship?" he added.
Yazmine sighed. She placed her hands on his shoulders and massaged them for a bit. Then, she wrapped her arms around his neck to embrace him. Jacob chuckled.
"So, you concede?" Jacob asked.
"What could I do? It looked like both Father and you already came to an agreement," she answered.
