Jacob could feel right away that the Pirate King was beyond his level. He backed away slowly as he prepared to draw his weapons. To his amazement, Meltzar chuckled.
"You do not need to be afraid of me," Meltzar said.
"I beg to differ. You're the notorious Pirate King after all," Jacob replied.
"Hn. So you don't really want to make a wrong move," he answered. Jacob saw his pupils glowed dark silver.
At that instant, Jacob froze. He could not move! He looked at the Pirate King as the latter walked in his direction.
Meltzar's voice softened as he approached closer, "I won't hurt you. I know why you're here. But are you sure you wanted to rescue him?"
"No man left behind," Jacob argued.
"Ah! That logic will haunt you twice. This, being the first one. The man you're trying to rescue will cause you grief. You see, I am trying to help you. If I take him out the equation, your life will be better," Meltzar replied.
