The halls of the demon mansion are winding, full of invisible traps and other inhospitable features. A sickly aroma hangs in the air, so sweet that clogs up the nose and itches one's lungs.
But Cassander and Mo Yinan venture forward, creeping behind the hoard of children that carried their injured to this Miss Lavender.
On the upper levels of the mansion, the halls are exceptionally dark. The hall seems to stretch on forever, each little footstep echoing as they traversed the carpeted floor. Immobile suits of armor flanked the hall, eerie in their vigilance. At the very end of this hallway there lies a set of golden doors. With great effort, two of the children push these doors open, revealing a bright room within.
They shuffle inside, their high-pitched voices are bright with affection and admiration.
"Miss Lavender!" some chirp.
"Greetings Miss Lavender," the older ones make an attempt at politeness.
