"We need to get out of here, quickly!" Tian De forcefully pulls Li Yu to his feet.
The older of the two is startled, confused. And on his sore muscles, he fumbles from Tian De's sudden movements, almost planting himself right into the mess that the younger one has made on the ground.
"What's going on?" Li Yu's even voice breaks, hoarse and scratchy like he might have been screaming the day before, "De'er you—"
But Tian De's eyes are wild. He makes a shushing motion and glares. "Be quiet, we have to make sure that he doesn't notice us."
Li Yu frowns, still fraught with confusion. "He?"
Tian De does not answer him and instead pulls him toward the door, but stops short of sliding it open. Instead, he presses his head to the wood and silently listens.
Disgruntled, Li Yu makes a face but gazes at the door and listens as well, trying to discern what might be the reason for Tian De's fright.
