The amount of Mana Beasts that have been coming to try to kill me or Nakatami have been increasing rapidly lately. They've also been getting stronger. Yesterday, there was a Tier 3 Mana Beast. It was so strong, both me and Nakatami needed to fight it simultaneously. But today, the strongest one of all arrived. One that was so strong, even if we both fought it, we couldn't beat it. A Tier 1 Beast.
Tier 1 Mana Beasts weren't stronger than Tier 2 Mana Beasts. But they were the only ones who could use mana. Because they were intelligent. Unlike the other beast who knew only to fight, they could strategize. We both knew we couldn't beat one, but we had to try. If he could use mana, we would have to use our strongest skills.
I used Fire Tornado, using the Interface System. The Mana Beast instantly blocked it with a neutral mana wall. He must have been trying to not give away his Element. Nakatami shot a Wind Blast at him to try and distract him, but he used neutral mana to block it with his other hand.
I shot another attack at him, Inferno Beam. He kept on using neutral mana to block it. I don't know why he wasn't attacking yet. Just as I thought that, he slammed both palms into the ground. Was this it? Before I had time to contemplate, I was sucked into a tornado of water. He was waiting for us to get close enough. We had lost. A circle of purple and black appeared under us. The water disappeared and we fell into the portal.
As we landed on the floor of a metro station, I recognised the scenery. This was the Tower's place for hostages. Then the world went dark. When I awoke, I was still in the same place but I was tied up. And there was a man with curly black hair, red eyes and a white suit. As I realised who it was, my fists clenched. He was the owner of the Tower.
