Finally, after thirty minutes of driving, Li Meilin and Lim Xian were back home. All throughout the trip, things went awkward between them, and we already knew why.
Li Meilin didn't wait for her master to act like a gentleman and open the door for her, since it is definitely not the right thing to do, and just opened the car door by herself. Once she is out of the car, she waited for Lim Xian to go out of the driver's seat as her way of showing respect to her employer.
Once Lim Xian got out of the car, Li Meilin bowed her head down a bit and tried her best to look her master in the eye after without feeling any anxiety or embarrassment.
"Thank you so much for taking me and my friends to the amusement park today," Li Meilin said formally like the whole trip was nothing but a business matter to her.
Lim Xian felt a pang of pain shooting directly on his chest but he ignored that.
Frowning, he asked, "Did you at least enjoy it?"
