Before Lim Xian could even think of stopping Li Meilin from going further, the latter had already decided to go forward on her own. And because of that, Lim Xian was put in a hard situation of whether or not to follow her inside.
Li Meilin must have sensed a few seconds later that her master was just standing at the entrance of the secret path since she cannot feel him following behind. She moved her head just an inch, considering how narrow the path is that only a single person can pass through one at a time, and looked at Lim Xian.
"W-wait! I thought we are going to find your friends now? Why do we need to do this?" Lim Xian asked, somewhat panicking. He is not even sure if it is totally safe going in there, or if the event organizers knew about this path at all.
"Come on now, scaredy-cat. There is nothing much to be afraid of here," says Li Meilin with that same smirk she had while teasing Lim Xian a while ago.
