"Thank you so much for looking after her. " The old man mumbles grabbing Yeong Jae's hands and bowing in gratitude, "Umm, it's okay. I am her teacher and I can't just let go of my responsibility. " He mumbles trying to make his point clear.
"But who is she to you?" He questions getting curious, he never knew why he was always curious when the things are about her.
"Umm, she is my miss. I mean, she more like a daughter for me but she is the daughter of the family I serve. " He says with a smile but his smile vanishes away when he eyes Yoo Na's unconscious figure on the bed.
"Don't you need to inform her parents?" Yeong Jae mumbles looking at Yoo Na with a frown, the elder widens his eyes feeling scared for her. "Uh, no need. I will take her back. Anyway, they are away for a business trip. " He awkwardly chuckles nodding his head and looking away from him.
"Business trip?" He mumbles frowning while his gaze remained on her, "I ought to see them through. " He speaks clearing his throat. "This kid has suffered a lot... can I beg for something?" The elder says looking at Yeong Jae.
The elder's words took him by surprise, "Yeah, what is it?"
"Can you not meet her parents. I-I... um, I don't w-want- please can you?" The elder holds onto his wrist and his eyes pleading. Yeong Jae frowns deeper shocked hearing such words more like seeing the elder plea did not make any sense at all.
"W-Why?" He stutters out a reply while the elder hangs his head low, "Just please... c-can you not?" He begs nervously, his stutter giving out all, Yeong Jae nods his head patting the elder's hands which were slowly losing their hold on his hands.
"Okay... if that is what you want. " He says looking back at Yoo Na, then the sight of her on the rooftop against the edge and her attempt to jump come across his mind all at once making him widen his eyes. He looks at Yoo Na and then at the elder but he remained quiet.
"Ugh..." A voice was heard behind them, both of them face towards Yoo Na, the elder runs towards Yoo Na blocking Yeong Jae's figure from the girl sleeping on the bed. "Miss... are you okay?" He questions caressing her face, seeing him in front of her gave her a wave of relief.
"U-Uncle... I-I am scared... d-dark... i-it was d-dark e-everywhere..." Yoo Na stutters out her words as she burst into tears grabbing onto the elder's hand. "It's okay. I am here... and it isn't dark, hmm?" The elder says caressing her hair and comforting her. Yeong Jae remained silent on his feet as he took in her shaky voice laced with terror.
He didn't understand why she was scared and the dark she mentioned made him bewildered.
"U-Uncle... T-take me out!" Yoo Na yells sitting straight on the bed with her legs dangling out from the bed, her attempt to run away didn't succeed when she saw her teacher standing at a distance away from her. Seeing him there made her cry even harder, she couldn't think of anything.
She runs towards him and wraps her hands across him seeking comfort but he was shocked with what happened in front of him, "Save me... take me away from them as you did before. " Yoo Na mumbles burying her face in his chest and crying her heart out.
Both of them understood she was scared but the words she said made them confused, Yeong Jae thought she might have mistaken him for someone else while the elder was wondering if the person she ran to was someone special for her.
Thinking about her being safe in his embrace made his heart warm but seeing the confused and carefree expression on Yeong Jae's face took away the hope. he sighs looking around, "Miss, we should probably go back home. "
Yoo Na sniffs pulling away from him but she widens her eyes like a truck hit her hard, she scurries away from him in fear and the words of accusation coming from him made her curse under her breath.
[Why did I do that? He must be thinking bad about me again... what if he says- no! No!] She was yelling inside her head but her head was shaking no vigorously making it hard for her, she felt her head throbbing painfully, she cries out in pain.
Both of them run towards her but Yoo Na scurries away from Yeong Jae's touch too scared of the thought of him thinking bad. She cries hugging the elder while he sighs looking up at the male who was yet taken back.
He couldn't understand her and everything going on with her, he sighs, "Let me help you to the car. " He says eyeing the elder but he shakes his head no.
"I can do it. Thank you for agreeing with me. " The elder says with a smile as he holds a crying Yoo Na against him and drags her along with him out of the nurse room leaving Yeong Jae lost in his own thoughts.
He turns around watching the elder take Yoo Na along with him, he frowns as everything tangled around making him curious and confused. He couldn't understand why he was being so attentive and inquisitive about her and her life.
He was never this curious except her, but now that having Yoo Na stirring him up had him troubled. He couldn't understand the attachment he felt with her when it hadn't been long since he met her. The first time he saw her was when he walked into the class which belonged to him for the year.
He found her quiet and lonely who doesn't talk much but ever since he stopped her from jumping he found her changed, and he wasn't sure why she was taking much of his attention.
"My heart... it doesn't beat for her but why am I being this sensitive when it's about her?" He speaks to himself as he watches the empty hallway in front of him. The moment he had an unconscious Yoo Na in his arms, he felt as if he would lose her.
He felt something he couldn't comprehend. What was she doing to him? Why was she affecting him so much?
"I need to stay away... she is bad news. " He mumbles to himself as he ruffled his hair in annoyance, it was hard for him to be struggling with himself. It was something he did way back and it was stressing him.
He shakes his head and walks out of the nurse room, he walks down the stairs but he remembers how limp Yoo Na was before she fainted in his arms, "But... what happened after I left? She was fine by then. " He thinks to himself but his eyes widen when a thought crosses his mind.
"Did I do that to her?" He shakes his head and groaning to himself.
"She is something else... no one has ever troubled me like this. " He blurts out running out of the building not caring the looks he received from some other teachers who were making their way out of the building.
