"Hey.", she said it to the guy's direction and he looked confused. "Yes, you with the glasses."
"Me?", he was still in doubt.
"Yeah. Want to battle?"
"You must be on mistake. I don't fight.", he lifted a weird smile.
"Don't be shy. Ask her instead then.", she pointed to his familiar.
"Only familiars?", he asked.
"Okay.", she agreed.
"Okay. I'll go there.", he stood up tripped and fell. "I'm okay. Just a little longer. Ouch.", he raised with a hand on his head.
A little after the familiars were on the battlefield.
"Don't overstimate yourself.", Ellen said to Felix. "Use strategies and don't be emotional."
"I'm not like I was yesterday.", he replied.
"You're watching too much television.", she complained.
"Don't fly against his vaccum and use his fire's heat to avoid great damages.", the boy said to his Fairy.
"I'm Ellen and what's yours?", Ellen said going to his side.
"I'm Albert."
"Nice to meet you."
"Likewise."
"A dragon against a fairy is almost no fun.", Cecilia changed a little since she started dating Gabe. "Familiars. Set. Ready. Go.", she was the judge for the battle.
Felix started with his fire breath without moving. The little familiar saw that coming and didn't move at all till she was propelled like a bullet to the air avoiding all that damage.
"How did she do that?", Ellen was astonished.
"I knew. This is like fighting the black hair.", the dragon was excited about the battle.
He speed up and flew toward the little Fairy. He started to doing punches and the other familiar was avoid like dancing on the air, without using its wings to fly. Felix dived to gather distance and realize another breath but she was close to him and a dark purple ball was on her hands.
"Avoid that Felix.", Ellen shouted seeing the sphere hit him. "Oh no."
The attack increased on the hit and the dragon was engulfed. After sometime it exploded and Felix started to fell. But before he hitted the floor the Dark Fairy made him lose speed and lay carefully on it.
"The winner is Albert.", Cecilia announced in shock. "How was that possible? Felix is superior in everything but magical power."
"His strategy is above from what Felix is accostumed to.", Ellen explained. "Using the fire breath heat to avoid it. Using vaccum to accompany his speed."
"Exactly. Did you get it on first glance?", the boy was in awe with her analysis.
"No. I just thought as a friend of mine.", she replied.
"He must be an awesome wizard then.", he complimented Peter.
"He's the same as you. The only difference is that his ego is humongous.", she said. "If you have one percent of his ego. You would be a great wizard."
"Thank you."
"That's not a compliment.", she returned. "A familiar can only grow with a wizard support and you aren't giving it this to her."
"You're too much like him now.", Cecilia told her.
"Haha. No. He's lost in his own demons by now and I can't reach him as I am."
"Why are you so attached at him?", the girl didn't know about their current relationship.
"I'm like a moth attracted to light.", Ellen explained. "I want to get close even if that kills me."
"This is just a suicidal thought."
"Lets see then. I want a duel against you without rules till one fall or gives up."
"I accept.", the wolf tamer smiled.
They asked for the professor help.
"Are you sure?", he spoke and both agreed. "I need to call an official judge for this. Wait a little.", he left in hurry.
He returned with one.
"I'm Natasha. I'm ranked in 20.014th position on the middle leaderboard and will be the judge for this official duel. The conditions of win is knocking the opponent out or giving up. Take your places."
Ellen was with Felix on her side.
"I don't need help on this.", she said to him.
"Why? I can easily defeat this puppies.", he said unmotivated.
"I want experience so don't even think in helping.", she threatened him.
"Okay."
Cecilia was with her twins puppies on the other side.
"We just need to take care of her, got it boys?", and both barked.
"Why didn't you invite me to see?", Gabe showed himself at the battlefield side.
"Don't need to see me kick her ass."
"She is your friend, isn't she?", he returned.
"As her little boyfriend is trying to win over you I show her how low they are in comparison to us."
"Oh.", Gabe didn't have saw this side of Cecilia.
Cecilia only became fragil because of her familiar going crazy and attacking her but now with thing under control her personality started to overflow out. She looked more dangerous than her friends that left Peter's room that night.
"Familiars."
The wolves were ready to start running.
"Wizards."
Dragon Tongues appeared on both sides of the battle.
"Set."
Felix crossed his arms and sat on the floor.
"Ready."
The time around Ellen started to slow as her instincts were rising up to the top.
"Go."
The dragon tamer clapped and a shock wave was made by it. As well her Haste Inscription ignited and started to function. She fastly cover the distance gap. With one Dragon Tongue on each hand she used fire to consume air creating vaccum and throwing the wolves away from their master.
Cecilia at this time had a lightning spell ready and released on her friend. Ellen was much faster and only needed to crounch to dodge it but she didn't stop there. She did a spin and a trip kick on her opponents legs while on dodging. With the wolf tamer on the ground the Dragon Tongue on her neck was enough to the announcement.
"Battle is over. The winner is Ellen."
"This is impossible.", the loser said. "What are those tattoos? Is that allowed?"
"Inscriptions and yes.", the judge said. "If there was any irregularity I'd had announced."
"She is just a butterfly tamer, how can I lose to her?"
It was half true. Felix was once a butterfly but as his body changed so did his personality. He stood up and started moving into Cecilia's direction. Gabe jumped on his front and flying to his side after was his Royal Guard Beetle. The dragon stopped but not because of this and because his master stopped him.
"Leave her be like that."
"Your dragon against my beetle.", Cecilia's boyfriend asked for a match.
His beetle was a little different from Rhynus. His shell was crimson while the other was navy blue. His horn was a little shorter and his magical power could be felt from far away.
"What do I win with this?", she asked him.
"I don't know.", he stopped to think. "I know. How about I don't use Synchronization against your friend."
"Make it official then.", she asked.
A official match with only familiars were rare but there's nothing against it.
"Okay, judge this is an official duel."
"The battle of Ellen against the rank 85.942th of the middle leaderboard Gave will begin. The rules are only familiars."
"Wow.", the students around heard his rank.
The leaderboard had four sections lower, middle, upper and sky. Between the three first always would have change in the intersections. Each one would have hundred thousand rankers. The topper thousand would compete with the lower thousand of the next leaderboard gaining their rank on win. While the sky leaderboard was untouched. The hundred on the upper leaderboard would have a chance to be recongnized as the bests of the world and advance to the sky.
"Familiars. Set. Ready. Go."
Felix was unmatched his speed made his fists hit the target more than once, more than ten times, more than hundred. The only problem was that the Royal Guard didn't move at all and worst didn't take any of the damage. The logic was simple if he loses to Rhynus he would lose here too.
"Scerus. Finish this now."
The beetle moved his head and his horn prevented more attacks from the dragon. He had space to move his fist now. It was a long and slow punch for who was at the beetle speed at least but for the rest was like breaking the sound barrier.
"Felix.", she raised her hand on giving up the match and ran toward the dragon.
"I'm sorry, master. I'm not good enough yet.", he was crying.
"You don't need to be. You just need to be with me.", she started crying with him.
The sound barrier broke again and a navy blue beetle was doing a punch on the Royal one. Peter was on the horizon and walked calmly toward the battlefield. His familiars were on his side and other students opened a path for him.
"That were just a welcoming punch.", he said looking into Gabe.
"That's so?", Gabe looked at his familiar that stood up calmly.
"Lets go, Ellen. Rhynus take Felix."
"Yes, my liege."
