Chapter 489 - Zando Godfray - F**K Me

The hell was this man doing? First the Palace, now he is smearing blood upon the walls? I must thank that strange old man. Was it not for him? I would have forgotten what this bastard looked like?

"M'lord, what would you have us do? He just entered a well-known tavern. A powerful God owns it; crossing into unknown territory that is not our own will not be wise." Solfar Rixnos, the scary little shit, cowered, hiding his trembling hands behind his back.

"Are they more powerful than my master?" I argued, scrunching my brow at the fool that dared to hold my attention.

"No, but--"

"Then that's all I need to know. Now follow me and keep your damn trap shut."

Unable to help myself, I scoffed, totally annoyed. I swear I miss the days where I could plow my guardsman daughters when they overstep. This fucker is lucky I am still under investigation.

"Come on, let's go. We have about an hour break before we must head out again." I commented, heading into the same tavern as my target, which stood over three stories in height.

It was vibrant inside, filled with the Dao of Water that calmed one's nerves. Sensing this was more of a restaurant, my gaze fell upon the man with dark hair with ashen highlights.

Noticing my stare, he pointed to the free seat that held a glass of wine. "Let no one enter or leave if anyone dares question why. Tell them the Court of Nox is investigating a disturbance. Also, send word to HQ and have someone investigate those blood smears."

"Yes, Sir," Siad Solfar sharply.

Snorting in response, I approached the strange man, whose gaze portrayed indifference. Taking a seat, I lifted the wine glass, taking a whiff of the enchanting notes of summer's bliss mixed with a hint of autumn's zest.

"It will marvel me that such wines could exist, adding the very seasons of heaven into a symphony. It makes you wonder, doesn't it? Can mankind do everything?" He uttered, taking a small whiff followed by a sip.

Pretentious if you ask me. It's goddamn wine. You drink and fuck, that's it. The hell is he talking about? Guess this is what Master called 'class.' I hate wine. Only bitches drink this shit.

"Least you didn't cheap out." I voiced, swirling my glass around, studying the blood liquid coiling within its glass.

"Not a fan of wine, I take it?" He said, startling me for a bit, as I had never shown any inclination I hated wine. "Yet here you are. Care to tell me why you are following me?"

"Curiosity," I replied, recalling the blossoming flower of silver. It was all I could see that day when I caught a glimpse of her. Her skin was enchanting to the touch without a hint of blemish, and her gaze soft, without malice. She was perfect.

"Really? Because all I felt was disgust when I first laid eyes upon you, Zando Godfray. I had wanted to cut your throat for staring at my daughter." He explained as if to break the smile that hung upon my lips.

I knew what I was, and I enjoyed what I did. Their child-like screams, the way they would shake, the way they would break. Come now, who could resist such temptation?

(A/N: Sorry... this is... Not happening again.)

Taking a sip, I grew a bit surprised; while I was not the biggest fan of wine, this was not bad. "Sorry to hear that, but it's as they say. No body, no crime." I responded without care, "What is your name, stranger."

"Yami," he replied sharply, staring with smoldering eyes that shook my soul.

"You know, it's funny. You not only just offended me by following me for the most obvious reason, but you also offended that litter girl's, big sis."

"Big sis? Please, you know who I am. So tell me how much for the little girl." I uttered, losing a bit of my patience. "Ten million, twenty? name your price."

Yami took a sip shaking his head, "The big sis is quite a big name. She works for your organization, you see. Even her Master lives in this domain. I am sure you have heard of her."

"I don't care," I shouted, clapping my hand against the table, silencing the tavern that did not have that many people. I continued. "What I care most about is that ass you had with you that night!"

"And why would I tell you that?"

"Do you think just because you have some connection in the Queen's Palace, I am afraid of you? Please, my Master is already here, residing in Casia's most prominent hotel. It would be a slaughter." I warned, rising from the table. Who was he fooling? Like my Master would be afraid of some low-grade knight?

Yami did not answer but rather smiled to my surprise. "It will always amaze me. So many events are going on in this city, yet it's the idiot that I have to deal with." Releasing a sigh of exacerbation, his sharp gaze shot towards a waiter, "Bring my guest a menu. I am growing quite hungry."

"What the hell are you trying to accomplish?" I demanded, somewhat growing vigilant. I was no fool. All that come to know me would at least show fear. But not Yami; he was cold like those inhuman Celestials in the heavenly Palace.

Surveying the area, his smile only grew, "Don't worry, they are almost here. I hope your Master will actually save you."

"Enough of these games, why don't you die." I coldly replied, pulling 'Hollow,' the blackish white spear master gifted me, for becoming a demi-god from my spiral ring, howling with pestilence. The very wine within Yami's hand grew foul, as did the furniture that began to rot and wither.

Placing the glass the was close to his lips, stained with mildew down, Yami grew a bit amazed. "Such an interesting weapon." He said, without concern, "The Dao of Pestilence, such an amazing idea."

"Your a mad--"

"Zando!!!" A sudden crazed howl roared, startling me where I stood.

Sensing the Power of a low False God echo, my brow creased, then relaxed, knowing my guardsman would handle such things.

"By the way, Arkanos, my daughter's big sis, is Yu Jing, and her Master is Aiza. One of the founders of Nox." Said Yami, crackling with laughter.

Shaking where I stood, my heart shuttered, watching the cruel laughter rising from his lips. "I will be seeing you, Zando. You may be the third soul my spear takes," he said, vanishing in a mist of darkness.

"Fuck Me!"
