Chapter 11 - Wisdom Is Profitable To Direct

His Confrontation with timothy aside, Asd was looking forward to actually learning some more. There was just something, a boy of sorts to seeing himself get stronger that he couldn't really place his hands on. But it was great, and with his mana control now up to weak level 5, a lot of things seemed a bit easier for him. For one he could actually feel mana around him now, maybe he always was able to feel it, but now it was even better. It was a crazy feeling being conscious of the power of magic around you, if he says he didn't love the feeling of power and strength he was getting, then he would be lying.

He made it in time for Professor Hogrin's class, being amongst the first to get there apart from a girl, the one who had actually turned her Mana interface into a sword. She sat at the eastern end of the classroom and seemed all too willing to keep to herself. Asd didn't say anything to her either, and that was because he didn't think there was anyone else in this academy apart from Rhea; who would be willing to interact with a former Werelion slave, doesn't matter if he was the given freedom and was studying magic like they were…..he was pretty much going to be alone for a while.

Hogrin didn't take long to show up, and hot on his heels were the other three students and four more additions. Asd didn't ask any questions and Hogrin didn't give them any space to do so as he immediately dived right back his lessons not even saying anything about the students who were late. Asd couldn't help but wonder if his treatment would be the same, but be that as it may it didn't matter, he would just pay attention to whatever the dwarf has to say today.

"Today we will touch on two topics, one would just be a highlight of sorts for those of you that are special even amongst your cohorts. And then the other lesson would be about the classes a mage can have. So first thing first there are a few people in existence, a few magic users specifically; who's magical stats are completely dependent on each other.

Usually for all mages, what you need the most is Mana strength and connectivity or as others would say; Attunement. Your seven phase visualization meditation method would be born when you have mastered 7 zero circle spells and that's when your mama begins to increase. With attunement you can easily master new spells and even modify them better than anyone or . And this is because with a high connection to mana, you can easily rewrite the rules of nature by understanding just how it works intrinsically on a molecular level.

The best alchemists and sorcerers have high mana Attunement. And then strength! Even with weak Attunement if you have high mana strength a spell the size of needle could completely evaporate a mountain from top to bottom. People with high strengths stats usually end up taking the roles or classes more suited for combats. Now finally we have control. Over the years a lot of mages have debated that control is the weakest of all stats and usually has no use and no need to be focused on. Because as long as you understand the mana have the strength to power it, and have enough mana in your mana pool, you could breeze through anything.

And even more so when the mana interface serves as a focus, a medium for your spells. Increasing your current control by an entire 20% which would get better the stronger the interface becomes. But control is needed for precision alchemical works, turning runes to rune circles, and then rune circles to formations, and for those of the druid class, control helps in animal transformation and connection and nature care. Control is important, but it is a separate stat not connected to the other two which feeds of each other.

However there are those who are born capable of having all three stats share a complete relationship. If your control increases, your Mana pool would increase and not too far behind depending on how high the other stats are, they too would experience a qualitative change. An if a higher stat goes up, usually a weaker one jumps up by 1 to 5 levels. They call such people Triskele Mages, or True Circle mages. They tend to be good at anything they lay their hands on, with the elements being the only thing that holds them back.

Triskele Mages usually end up with 2 or 3 more elements than what they were previously born with. Making them mages with more power and more versatility as their bodies are the perfect host to magic. We make it a point to find Triskele Mages before they have picked their seven zero circle spells, because Triskele Mages can have a different element for each of that zero circle apart from their born elements. And while the new elements would never be as powerful or easy to use for the late as the ones they were born with.

They would still have access to a larger arsenal, even though it would be limited to a single spell for each circle. However once they reach the 7th circle they get to have an extra 7 spell slots whereas other mages get 2 at least and 4 at maximum. So if you have any suspicion about being a Triskele Mage then please speak up so that the school would focus it's resources on training you. You would have access to the rainbow spectrum of classes, and that means more power, respect and prestige enough for 10 generation of your family. Enough for even a king to bow his head to you."

If someone was to describe the look on Asd's face, they would say he had stars sparkling within them. But it was much too soon to jump into conclusions, his control only increased by 1 and his mana pool by 10. No other stat has increased, though if what the teacher just said was true then it was probably because the stat that increased was a weaker one, and that sooner or later he would see an increase.

Even if he didn't say it, Asd and the rest of the students were able to fill in the blanks. If all three stats share a symbiotic relationship, then it meant they kept on growing forever and quickly too. Because it would be a constant circle of improvement with Little intervals between them. The so called rainbow mages are probably the most powerful set of magic users at any given time, and depending on the kind of spells they have…..they could be practically untouchable.

Asd got the feeling that he was probably enjoying all of the luck that a few millennium of slavery had taken from his people. Especially for being the last Werelion. But it was still too early to get excited, and even if it was so. Asd had no intention of exposing himself. Sure more resources were good, but being a slave all his life has thought him one thing….. a were with power was highly coveted and feared. He didn't want to end up a slave again before he could achieve his full potential or worse dead. Rainbow mages might be Rare, but given how big the empire was there was no shortage of them…..Wisdom is profitable to direct! He's keeping his damn mouth shut!
