Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

That day was the last day that Khana saw Raka's face, so now many years have passed since they separated in the school grounds.

Khana did not know where Raka was until now, there was no news whatsoever that he got from Adit or his other friends.

Khana walked down the hallway of the hospital where she was working on her face. She looked tired because she had to check up on patients all day long because of the dengue fever epidemic.

The cellphone in his white coat pocket vibrated, he grabbed the flat shape and saw who was calling him on nights like this.

"Yes, Bun." Khana said in a lazy tone.

"Assalamualaikum." Greet Mother.

Khana smiled a little, he even forgot to say hello to his mother. "Waalaikumsalam."

"You're too tired to say hello to Bunda." Scold Bunda across the phone.

"Sorry, Mother. Today I'm really tired, because many DHF patients have dropped conditions." Khana replied.

On another place her mother smiled at her daughter's complaints. "Take care of your health, you can work and help many people, but you also have to pay attention to your health, it's also very important."

"Fine, Bunda. By the way, what's wrong with you calling me at night like this?" Khana asked because it was unusual for her mother to stay up late at night.

"There's nothing, I'm just worried about you, it's been two days since you've been overtime, I just want to make sure you're okay."

"Oh, I'm fine mother. No need to worry about me." Khana said.

"Okay then, don't forget tomorrow morning when you come home to stop by Lexa's house, her mother is sick, please check it out."

"Ready, mother."

"Alright, Assalamualaikum."

"Waalaikumsalam."

Khana put his cell phone back in his coat pocket. Slowly he walked back to his room to rest.

With slow steps, Khana pushed open the door to her room then entered and closed the door again. The long sofa is his last place to let go of a tired day of work. With outstretched legs, and his head resting on the back of the sofa, his eyes slowly began to close due to the unbearable drowsiness.

Khana was fast asleep until she didn't realize that the door to the room where she was resting was pushed from the outside. The figure of a large man with torn levis pants on his knees entered the room.

The man squatted, then slowly kissed Khana's forehead, for quite a while. The man smiled a little.

"Khana, I am always around you, even if you never realize it. We will meet soon. I love you khana, past, present and forever. Thank you for taking good care of yourself all this time."

The man then put up a blanket which he took from Khana's personal closet. Kissed Khana's forehead once more, and stepped back until he reached the door.

"Where have you been?" Adit asked Raka who had just entered the house.

"Seeing Khana again?" Again, Adit asked Raka, who was still silent and did not answer.

"Yes, I met Khana."

"How many times have I told you, meet Khana by showing your face, not secretly like this." Said Adit.

"I can't yet, I don't want to harm him." Raka replied.

"Nothing will happen to Khana, trust me." Adit tried to convince Raka if what he said was wrong.

"My mom and dad never mess with what they say, Dit. You know that."

"Not this time, Raka." Adit replied as he stepped closer to Raka, who just stood staring out the window.

"Why are you so sure?" Asked Raka while turning to Adit.

"Because I know, now you can protect Khana, even now you don't need to be afraid if Khana is expelled from school, because she has graduated and is now a doctor."

Raka took a deep breath, then thought about what his cousin said. Maybe what Adit said was the truth? But what if Khana was discharged from the hospital just because of him. Becoming a doctor is Khana's dream since childhood, there is no way Raka will destroy what the girl he loved so much from when he was young until now he has become a great CEO.

"Not now, Dit." Raka remained adamant about his decision.

"Just seeing Khana happy is enough." Raka continued.

"Until Khana is owned by someone else?" Asked Adit, making Raka turn his face back to Adit who looked annoyed.

"That won't happen." Raka replied.

"It will happen, if you don't tell Khana right away, if you always keep her from afar, if you love her until now." Said Adit, still trying to convince Raka.

Raka was silent and did not answer everything Adit said. He was indeed afraid of losing Khana, and did not want her to be owned by other men, but again Khana's safety and happiness were at stake.

"Up to you." Adit said giving up. Then left Raka alone in his room.

"O Allah, take care of Khana, match him only with me." Prayers of Raka, full of hopes to be with Khana someday.

Raka walked to the bathroom to clean himself, then went back into the room, and lay down on the big bed.

His mind drifted to remember the beautiful face veiled, a doctor who managed to win her heart. Khana. Raka then took something from the drawer of the nightstand. The little thing that he managed to take from Khana's room first, and also the lunch box that became his favorite lunch box.

"I promise, one day we'll be back together, Khana." Raka murmured.
