Chapter 42 - Frost Jade Ghost Technique

The next morning, the physician had been summoned by the family head at the first sound of the rooster crowing in the morning.

Alvian laid on his partly damaged stone bed, shirtless as the physician continued to check up on him.

On the others side of the room was Zhen Tian, Alvian's father in this world as he sat in the wooden chair opposite the Physician.

Although he kept his cool and tried very hard not to look troubled, his expression still show signs of worry. Sometimes, his eyes would unconsciously drift to the man sized hole that was near him a few centimetres near him and then towards Alvian's face. He couldn't help but shake his head softly.

The physician then stood up after examining Alvian injuries, then he sighed. The physician was an old man with white hair and bushy beards but he seem like a man who knew exactly what they were doing.

Alvian glanced indifferently at the old man, but his gaze contained a hint of respect now. The herbs the old man had placed on his upper body had some sort of soothing but fiery hot effect that seeped through every pore of his skin.

"Is everything alright?" The family head, Zhen Tian remained in his seat and asked.

"Fortunately, the young master has a very strong body and has an abundance of yang energy, it was actually able to restrain the aftereffect from the yin ghost's attack for this long, Its truly is incredibly." The old man sounded truly amazed.

Zhen Tian heaved a sigh of relief. "Is he going to be alright?"

The old man nodded his head as he wooed his hands off from the herbs he had been preparing. "Yes, young master is alright. Its only going to take a bit of time since the herb I placed on his skin would need some time to absorb the opposing energy in his body. The yin energy hasn't seeped to deeply into the young master's organs, its not really difficult to expel them."

He then turned towards Zhen Chen. "You can remove the herbs only after six hours. I advice the young master not to eat or drink anything cold in the next few days as that might trigger unexpected changes. I will come check up on the Young master tomorrow."

He then bowed at the father and son and then turned around to take his leave.

"Thank you Old Lu, you've been very helpful. The servants will see you on your way out." Zhen Tian spoke before the Physician left.

Old Lu was immediately ecstatic, his brawny face broke out to a smile. "I will thank the family head for your care."

"Hmm, you may leave."

"You should rest, I will come check on you often." Zhen Tian stood up but as he was about to leave, he hesitated.

"Are you sure you want to stay here?" The family head asked, glancing at the wall with a human shaped hole in it and the collapsed bed. Although the servants had tried to fix everything and had brought in a different stone bed and seats, the hole within the walls wasn't so easily fixed.

"Yes father, I prefer it here than any other place." Alvian grunted.

"Hm, alright. If there's any problem, inform your maid. I will get going." Without another word, Zhen Tian folded his hands behind his back and took his leave.

Seeing the door slammed close, Alvian remained lying on the stone bed, with his eyes closed as though he was sleeping.

After a while, his eyes suddenly snapped open as he stood up carefully, grunting in the process.

The Cyro touch ravaging his organs was gradually leaving his body. To a normal human, this was a life an death situation, but to Alvian, it was a simple injury. Form his expression, it was obvious he didn't think much of it as though his life's wasn't his to begin with. He was indifferent.

Alvian suddenly reached out from underneath his bed and brought out three items from within. One was a book, the second was a doll and the third was a small luminous stone the size the nail of a pinkie finger.

He wasn't really particularly interested in the doll and the stone, what piqued his interest greatly was the book itself. He dropped everything else and focused on the book. On the book, several big words were written on the cover.

"Frost Jade Ghost Technique."

In that instant, information popped up right before him.

Alvian wasn't really worried about the system's remark. This inner Qi technique, this was the first time he had gotten into contact with a powering system like this. Although there had been many stories and legends about inner energy which was also called internal energy, there wasn't a single one manual that instructs one on how to create internal energy.

A few years ago before retirement, he had secretly scoured through the earth in search for ways to achieve the so called internal energy. His search had proven futile even when it lead him to a temple and the head priest refused to instruct him, Alvian believed then that internal energy was simply a legend. A lie that had been exaggerated and passed down from each previous generations to the recent one.

In a fit of anger, he had wiped out the entire temple. It was during that moment he had almost died as he faced the head priest head on. The head priest was a very troublesome foe and surprisingly, his realm in hand-to-hand combat technique was even higher than Alvian had previously been. He had somehow managed to reach the grandmaster realm.

But even then, Alvian wasn't someone simple either. He had managed to kill his opponent even with the disadvantage in combat power.

Even at the brink of death, the Old man refused to tell Alvian the key to reaching grandmaster. Pissed, Alvian didn't hesitate to kill him even though he might regret it.

Now, he had already reached the grandmaster realm and had even come into contact with inner Qi. Its as though the old man's sacrifice was all in vein.
