His heart stirred and he slowly twisted his face to the back while the rest of his body slowly turned rigidly.
What he saw made him tilt his head in slight amazement. It was someone her hadn't expected which caught him slightly off guard.
A loud ding sound emerged from his phone but Alvian ignored it and stepped forwards. "You are here Evy."
"It's truly you big brother!" Evyana's voice began to crack up as she immediately closed in on Alvian and slammed into him, as she held onto him tightly. She then began to sob heavily on his chest as she hugged him tightly.
Alvian grunted in pain but still, his face morphed into an awkward smile as he hadn't done one of those in a few years.
"Don't cry, I'm here now, everything is going to be okay." Alvian assured here while stroking her blonde hair softly.
Although he noticed that her hair was blonde, his hands only paused for a second before they resumed stroking her hair as though he her hadn't noticed anything in the first place.
After a minute of trying to console her, Evyana finally let go of him but she tightly held on to his hands as though not wanting to let go.
Alvian's still heart began to ripple slightly and he sat her down. "What happened to you big guy?"
Her tiny voice resounded and tears began to gather back into her eyes as she noticed the wounds that had gathered around his body covered with bandages, blood stains and dirt.
"Just a slight injury, nothing much." He smiled as he stretched out his hands to wipe down the tears that were about to zip line down her face.
Evyana sniffed as she nodded her head, agreeing to his explanation.
"What are you doing here Evy?" After everything had calmed, Alvian finally asked the question that had been bothering him.
"I-I kind of had a feeling that you would be here, so I escaped to come find you. I actually didn't think I would see you here." She was confused at first but then she smiled as she turned towards Alvian.
"Weren't you supposed to be in school?" Alvian proceeded to ask.
"School?" Confusion shown in her eyes at first before realisation as she nodded her head agreement.
"I was in class before all of this chaos started. It was simply too much for me so I decided to come find you first as I don't know what I should do." Her eyes were pained as though remembering all that she had gone through since the outbreak.
Alvian nodded his head. Evyana's hand held tightly on his as though not wanting to let go. Seeing this, Alvian smiled and said.
"We need to get out of here Evy. While passing by, I heard some people saying that several special agents are going to be deployed to this very location. I think it's best we leave before they arrive." Alvian said as he stood up, but Evyana didn't release his hands for a single bit. It was as though that was the only thing she needed to she rely on to not breakdown due to the ordeal she had gone through.
But then, Evyana's face flickered as she heard his words but then she stood up and asked in her crystalline voice. "When did you hear they are coming?"
"Almost a while ago, can't really remember. It doesn't matter anyway, they would mind us since we are survivors." Alvian smiled, robbing her head and then began walking outside with Evyana in tow.
A carefree smile was on his face which Evyana could see as she snuck a peek at him.
But before they could move a single step, Alvian's ears slightly twitched and his facial expression turned indifferent. And in that moment, several black rounded objects broke through the glass window with a loud clanking sound.
Peng! Peng! Peng!
In the next second, the objects landed right on their feet. Knowing what was going to happen next, Alvian quickly closed his eyes and Evyana's with his hands while shielding her with his body. "Close your eyes!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Several fish grenades went off, turning the entire house into an astonishingly blinding flash of white, for an entire second before fading away but that light was enough to stun someone for several seconds.
Alvian quickly got up, holding Evyana as they fled to the other part of the room. "Brother, what is happening!?" Evyana's confused voice sounded as she held onto Alvian tightly as though she was about to cry.
"Remember those agents I was talking about?" Alvian asked while she nodded her head.
"So, twht are attacking us for reasons I don't know. But it seems that they want us alive since they didn't immediately use a grenade." Alvian explained as he carefully peeked through the window to observe the situation outside.
It was then Evyana noticed something. "Brother, what is that?"
Alvian tore his eyes away from the window and gazed behind him. Unknowingly, smoke was beginning to fill the room quietly
Alvian quickly tore apart two pieces or cloth from the curtains and placed them inside water from the remaining bottle of water he had found in the refrigerator.
He then quickly tied one to Evyana's nose while also doing the same for him.
"But brother, why are they attacking us? We are only victims!" Evyana shouted as though in frustration but the wet piece of cloth on her hands muffled the sound of her voice.
Alvian didn't reply as he continued to peek through the window. Several people dressed In standard military equipment quickly closed in on the house in tight formation.
"Dammit, Scorpion's Sting Formation." Alvian's pupils constricted. This formation was the most effective against a single opponent and was the most difficult to deal with. Even he would have a hard time escaping ybe formation.
Just like it's name stated, soldiers would attack together from both the back and would only attack from the front. Its when things get a little difficult and messy would the Strike team from behind act fast and lightning quick, just like a Scorpion's sting!
