Reiner Arseid was currently lying around his bed unmoving and looking at the ceiling of his room. It had already been a day since the start of the two weeks given to them to train, but Reiner hadn't moved from his bed only staring at the ceiling. He was deep in thought about what he had experienced during the screening tournament.
The other students were so different from him who lacked so many things. They had a passion of such intensity it felt like it could burn. They showed effort until they were coughing out blood. They had the pride never to back down. They had displayed their honor in battle, and the dignity to lose with grace. All of these things baffled him as if they were concepts from a world he could not enter.
'Why are they giving so much for this tournament? What's the point of doing so much when we all end up with nothing in the end.'
