After Shin and Erika's fight, the next match was between one of the favorites Reiner, and the underdog Miguel who was one of the two remaining students who wasn't considered a favorite. Even the dark horse Michael who just recently gained popularity was considered to have a higher chance than Miguel of winning.
Even though most of the students did not know that Reiner was the sole disciple of Hakai, they were impressed by his fight against the Grandmaster in the third test. As for Miguel, he was the most lackluster participant in the quarter-finals, of course, he was better than most students, but that was it there was nothing more to him.
Even before the match started many of the people present had a similar thought that Reiner would easily win.
