flashback,
"Ammi, please say something to brother, why can't I go when everyone is going?" Aayat Spoke like a stubborn child, holding her mother's hand.
"Why are you insisting? Don't you understand it once? you won't go to Dubai, and it's my final decision, no matter what you say, I won't change!!." This time Asher spoke furiously, slamming the TV remote on the table, making her startled, and moved a step away from him.
Aayat's second-year exams were over and in a few months she had to take the entry test for the medical profession, And that's why Aayat, her best friend Rabia, and few classmates, planned to go to Dubai, to relieve their stress and have some time for themselves.
And for this, she had been asking permission from her mother and brother, but to her shock, Asher did not want her to go along with just her stupid friends, and at first, he tried to persuade her with love to leave her stubbornness, But Aayat, with her stubborn nature, didn't give up and had been pestering them non stop to grant her the permission to go. But Asher was not even budging from his decision and straightforwardly refused to let her go so far without him.
"But it's not like I am going alone, there will be a whole group of tourists, and it's only for ten days...." Seeing him getting angry and annoyed, She repeated in a soft voice. and then again she started looking at her mother with moist eyes for help.
Rehana Begum was almost ready to give her permission after seeing her crying, but it did not seem right to let her daughter go alone like that, and then she also knew that Asher would not listen to her too.
But on the other side was Aayat, who was also determined to not give up on her plan. Rehana begum sighed and from the bottom of her heart, she began to curse the rich friends of Aayat who had planted this stupid idea in her innocent mind.
"Aayat."
Seeing his lovely sister weeping like this, Asher also felt bad now, but he could not understand her unreasonable stubbornness.
With a sigh, he got up from the sofa and walked towards her. he cupped her tear-stained face and raised it to see her reddened eyes, and looking at her pearl-like tears, he took a deep breath and wiped them with his thumps, making her cry even more.
"Bhaai…" she spoke in a trembling voice, and Asher couldn't stop himself and hugged her to his chest. "Forgive me, I shouldn't have shouted at you like that..."
Feeling his love, Aayat thought of trying again and raised her head from Asher's chest and spoke to him in an innocent and cute voice. "Please brother, I really want to go with my friends, please…"
Asher took a deep breath in frustration and was about to say something to her when their father entered the living room, who had left his room to get water.
"Aayat? What happened? why are you crying like this?" As soon as he saw Aayat in that condition, he was shocked and asked in a worried voice.
When no one answered him, he walked straight to Aayat. And seeing him, Asher nodded at her, clearly warning her, and then moved away from her, feeling depressed that the matter has now come to his father's notice, and everyone in the house knew that Riaz never refuses to anything she asks. Due to which her mother and Asher strictly forbade Aayat from talking to Riaz Sahib about her tour.
"Abu, the thing is..." she looked at her brother and mother who were now looking at her with a disappointed look. She knew that neither of them wanted to tell her father. In her eyes, it was an injustice to stop her too from telling her father, but she also didn't want to upset her brother.
"I'm asking you Aayat, why are you looking at Asher like this, and come here first, sit here."
Putting his arm around her shoulders, he brought her to the sofa and made her sit there before he also sat beside her.
"Now tell me what happened? And why were you crying like that?" he spoke in his usual soft tone.
"Abu, my friends have planned to go to Dubai for 10 days tour."
" And? "
"I also want to go there with them." Aayat finished with courage, and then lowered her eyes, looking at her hands on her lap.
She knew that her brother would be looking at her angrily for telling this to their father. This is why she didn't want to look at him and tried her best to ignore his piercing glare.
But when Riaz Sahib did not say anything even after a few moments. disturbed by her father's silence, hesitantly, she looked up at her father. and found him lost in his thoughts. Then she looked at Asher, who was shaking his head, showing her his disappointment and frustration.
She felt her heart hurting and she bites her lips hard to hold back her newly formed tears.
"Abu, do you also don't want me to go to Dubai? But I want to go, please give me permission this time, I promise I won't ask anything like that again…"
"In just ten days you will travel the whole Dubai?" Aayat was saying more when her father asked her in his typical soft tone.
"Hnnn…?" Confused with his question, she looked at him uncertainly, but now Riaz sahib was looking at her with a smile, but seeing Aayat so astonished he began to laugh softly at her.
And when she realized that Riaz Sahib has given her permission, She screamed in excitement and hugged her father's neck like a little child.
"thank you, Abu!!! You are the best father of this world..!" Her father, seeing her jubilant, his face was also shining with happiness.
"Abu, you have no idea how happy I am feeling right now,!!" she said while still clinging to his father's neck like a monkey.
"But Abu, it's not safe to let her go without any of us with her..." After hearing Riaz's decision, Asher tried to explain to him his reasons.
"Aayat is my daughter, Asher, and every decision of her life is in my hands. You don't have to worry about that." Riaz's voice was normal, but his words made it clear that he won't discuss this matter anymore.
When Riaz Sahib entered there, Asher already knew that this was going to happen. He looked at her mother with disappointment but sealed his mouth from saying anything further or showing his disagreement with his father's decision.
He already knew that his father was biased when it comes to his pampered daughter.
"Thank you, Abu," she said again with a smiling face. She still couldn't believe that she had been allowed to go to Dubai.
"Aayat, I have given you permission because I want to see you happy, but always remember, never give me a chance to regret this decision."
