Szeina stealthily hopped from the gate, splashing a bit of water from the small puddle where her feet had landed.
She had never tried escaping before. But she never had a reason to.
Now, things have changed.
"Are you sure about this?" Laura mumbled, her confidence from earlier slowly vanishing. The rain pelted against their coats. She carefully landed beside Szeina.
Raven followed right after.
Lightning and thunder rumbled from the sky. Szeina briefly glanced at the path that zigzagged towards the castle building.
There were no guards patrolling the gates. In a place such as this, only one who has a death wish would try to come anywhere near it.
No mortal could find it in plain sight. Any other creature not welcome will have to pass through the barrier that the iron gates hold.
