Szeina was surprised to have another summons from Xeruz early the next day. She was already in her uniform and was wondering if he was going to reprimand her about allowing Yvann into her room or if he caught them loitering outside last night.
Either way, she was going to have a word with him, too. If it actually came to that.
Yet, before she could make any other assumption, Xeruz's long face when she joined him in his study was enough to stop her short and ask what was the matter.
"I want you and Yvann to go back to his family. I need you to investigate something for me."
Narrowing her gaze, Szeina raised an apprehensive eyebrow at him. She had been trying to get him to allow Yvann to see his family, but he'd been declining each of them, saying he wasn't ready or his family wasn't ready.
But now, he was actually throwing them away to them.
