It's been a while since she last sat on her favorite tree. The last time she remembered doing it was before the full moon gala.
After the talk with Xeruz, Szeina found herself needing its comfort. The sound of the crickets and the light breeze, the view of the stars. She missed it.
Opening her palms, she stared at the crumpled note with her name written in a scrawny handwriting.
The tip of the pen left taint marks on the paper. She could only assume the person who wrote it was either forced or had used the hand he or she doesn't usually write with.
However, that wasn't even what bothered her. The thing was; she couldn't understand why her name appeared on that piece of paper.
"Did I know the victim?" She murmured, letting her words be carried by the wind. Suddenly, she wanted to hop inside the car and drive towards the morgue where the corpse was lying.
She wanted to see for herself who it was and check what might have happened.
