It was shocking but not exactly. If I had been assigned the guards then it was only a given that Tristan was receiving information from them about my whereabouts.
"Yes, but—" a loud knock cut of Chiara from talking as we all looked into the direction of the door.
"See for yourself," Chiara sighed. "Apparently, I don't think he liked the fact that you were not there for breakfast."

"Aunt?" Tristan was behind the door. " Is everything alright? Open the door this instant before we break it down."
I turned to Chiara. "Why did he bother asking if everything was alright?"
She gave me a knowing smile. " because he cannot hear what's going on inside. Now hurry up and open the door." She practically shooed me away from her.
