I woke up but closed my eyes as I just opened them. It hurt when I opened my eyes. I blink very slowly before trying to open them with patience. I could feel someone in the room and it was Tristan.
"Good morning," he wished with a rare happy expression on his face. "I was not expecting you to be awake this early." He was sitting on a chair with his right leg thrown over his left knee.
"Yet, you are seated comfortably. . on a chair." I pointed out in a very raspy voice. My eyes opened partially and the vision was slightly cloudy.
"Yes," he chuckled, lowering his head before raising it up again to meet my eyes, "there is only so much I can do and one of it is watching you from afar. Knowing that you are well protected calms the beast inside."
The beast that was hunting a human last night in front of me. I had seen a brief image of the beast surfacing from behind and I could only pray to never see it again.
