On her plate lead a bloody mass of meat. I wanted to think twice before saying the word meet because all I could see was the blood on the plate.
"Do you really have to do that?" Tristan's calm voice made me blink away from the bloody sight. "We should try and not overwhelm her on her first day."
Chiara gives him an innocent smile. "When you have to understand that I'm doing this within reason."
"What reason?" Tristan all but spat the word out. One could say that he was getting annoying because his grip on the fork was tightening by every passing moment.
"She has to begin learning everything one day. I would rather have her observe everything before making peace with it." She then picked up her fore as I watched and cut into the bloody mass. "This is the very first part of it."
I gulped it down. Whatever it was, it came up my throat. I could feel the sensation of bile rising up in my throat and I tried to keep it down as much as I could.
