"That.." I gasped, "oh dear god."
"Your highness?" The man, Solomon, came back to stand next to the light. "Is there something you doubt in the letter?"
"Yes," I turned to him, of the north. "What of him? Is he truly not receptive to the people not invited by him to his kingdom?"
Solomon's polite expression turned grave. "Unfortunately, not. Unless the king considers you to be an ally or a friend, you have to be invited into the land of the north."
Oh, dear god.
Half of my army must be on the land of the north by now. If not, they must be somewhere near, and they were marching to their deaths!
"Dear god!" I gasped, holding my head of what I had done. There had to be someone who had truly changed the letters because the one Geneveive sent me stated for me to send my army up north. And this one was in complete contrast to the previous one!
