Seven Years Ago…
Her parents didn't play with her since they've been busy with their work. They left her to her nanny, Maila, who was busy on her phone and didn't take care of this little girl. She was always sending her man inside their mansion without her parent's consent.
Her life was very tedious, she didn't have any friends around her neighborhood. Her parents didn't allow her to play outside unless it was in their backyard. She just wanted to play freely, outside their mansion, and have friends.
She heaved a deep sigh, staring at the window where all the kids were playing at the playground. She was jealous of them, had parents beside them, and played with them.
And all she could do was to read her books, play with her dolls inside her room, or watch a kid's show on the television. She wanted to go there and play. So, she decided to sneak out of her room without her nanny noticing it.
She giggled when she was doing her plan to sneak since her nanny was very busy with her phone, chatting with her boyfriend so it will be easy for her.
Then, she glanced at her, cute and little drawing on how she was going to leave the mansion without other maids and guards noticed.
"It's great." She murmured with satisfaction in her eyes.
Her lips curved into a smile on the sketch of her plan. It's not a typical sketch that a professional could understand. It's just a little pretty kid's sketch.
Hence, she grabbed her pink, glittery backpack inside her wardrobe. She picked up her jumping rope and dolls. She wore her rubber shoes. Her feet led in front of her door.
Carefully, she grasped the door and opened it. She glanced side to side to see if someone was in the hallway. She smiled when no one was around.
She walked out of her room and slowly, she closed her door. She sauntered straight to the kitchen to get her snacks. She was very wary, knowing that they would catch her.
Then, she placed it inside her bag and, hastily, she walked out of the kitchen. She kept looking at his back, panicked inside her chest if someone knew that she sneaked out of the mansion.
And when she reached the gate, her eyes gazed around to see if the guard was around, and luckily, the guard wasn't there. Her lips form into a smile while opening the gate.
She sighed in relief when she left the mansion without any difficulty however, there was some fear that lingered inside her since this was her first time to break a rule that her parents implemented for her safety.
She took a deep breath to soothe the tension inside her chest when her heart pounds rapidly.
"It's okay Aly… You can do it." She said to herself.
Then, she proceeded to saunter towards the playground where all the kids were playing with their friends. And since then, she didn't know anything about her neighborhood. It'll be very hard for her to adjust. She didn't know how to greet them.
Instead, she crouched on the swing and played by herself. "It's not so bad to get out of the mansion." She uttered while staring at the children, who were playing with their friends.
Meanwhile, a young boy strolled to their living room where he saw his two older brothers. He crouched beside him and watched them, playing.
"Come on! I'll win this game!" His oldest brother shouted to his gamer.
"You won't win this time, Caine!" His other brother asserted.
He sighed deeply when he felt tedious about their games. And so, he stepped out of their mansion and wandered around the mansion to see if he would help the maids, however, they didn't want them to get any dirt or scratched off the young boy.
"Why don't you play outside." One of the maids inferred it to him.
He just responded with a nod and sauntered out of the gate. His eyes wandered around and observed the outside world. He perceived that it was interesting.
Then, he ambled further until he attained the playground. His eyes narrowed when he heard the loud cry of a little girl inside the playground. He strolled closer and there, he saw a little girl, who got bullied by other kids.
He didn't want to get involved but when he saw one of the kids shoved her away. He heaved a deep sigh, deciding to help her out. He sprinted towards them and shoved them away.
"Oohh, a young prince wants to save her lovely princess." One of the kids mocked him which made him very furious.
"So what if I'm saving a princess!" He exclaimed and shoved them away.
"Do you think you can fight against us!" One of them asserted.
The young boy smirked at them, knowing that he's not an ordinary kid. His father trained him to defend himself. Then, he kicked them to their stomach until they felt weary.
"Out!" The little boy shouted as they left the little girl alone.
He turned to face behind, facing her, and gave him a warm, big smile. The little girl just looked at her, puzzled. She didn't know what to say but then, the little boy offered a hand as she gladly accepted his offer.
"T-thank you for saving me." She uttered quietly while staring at her feet, embarrassed to look right into his eyes.
"It's my pleasure to save you." He replied.
She lifted her head to glance at him. Slowly, her lips curved into a smile while their hands linked with each other.
"My name is Chance… Chance Bailey. You, what's your name?" He then asked.
She cleared her throat, removed her hand to hi,m and fixed her dress, discarding the dirt all over her dress before she retorted,
"I'm Alyssum… Alyssum Bryne. Nice to meet you."
