Chapter 12 - First Date

Laying on the couch with her eyes closed, Brianna was quietly listening to her headphones, and humming the songs that she listened to.

"Bri!! Where is the tub of ice cream!!!" Silvia yelled from the kitchen and she dug into the freezer searching for the tub of ice cream that she saved to eat later.

Brianna's eyes opened wide and looked at the ground where an empty tub of chocolate ice cream sat and a spoon. "Uh, was it chocolate?" Asked Brianna.

"Yea… I swear that I left it in the freezer." Silvia said, stretching her head as she walked out to the living room.

'Busted.' Brianna told herself as she shifted her blanket so some of it would hide the empty tub.

When Silvia looked over at Brianna, Brianna had a guilty-looking smile on her face. Silvia's eyes narrowed as her face transformed into a glare, staring straight at her friend.

"Heh, if you are thinking that I'm the one who ate the ice cream, you are completely wrong." Brianna assured her friend with a nervous laugh.

"Brianna, how dare you eat my ICE CREAM!" Silvia was not happy with her friend.

"Silvia, do you really think that I would eat my best friend's ice cream?" Asked Brianna.

"Brianna, who do you think I am, I know that face like it's the back of my hand. Why would you eat my ice cream?"

Brianna shrugged, "fine, I was the one who ate your ice cream, but it didn't have your name on it so what am I supposed to think?" Asked Brianna.

"There is something called asking, Bri baby."

"There is!" Brianna asked with a fake shocked expression.

Silvia rolled her eyes.

Brianna smiled innocently.

"Whatever." Silvia huffed, walking over to Brianna and flopped on the other end of the couch where Brianna's feet were.

"Hey!" Brianna said, quickly moving her feet from underneath her friend's ass.

Silvia gave her friend a sweet smile saying, 'that's what you get for eating my ice cream.'

Brianna hugged her knees close to her chest and narrowed her eyes and eyebrows, her face forming a glare.

Silvia did the same, glaring back at her friend.

The two girls were having a glaring contest.

Ding!

Brianna received a notification on her phone, but she was a bit busy with her contest.

*****

[Hey Bri! How are you?]

Jason sent a message to Brianna and waited patiently for Brianna to answer.

Brianna would normally answer right when she gets the notification unless she was busy or sleeping.

Jason placed his phone face up on his desk and leaned back in his chair with his eyes closed as he waited for Brianna to answer.

Tapping his feet on the ground impatiently, he sat up to check his phone.

He frowned when there were no notifications.

'She might be busy.' He thought and looked down at his desk. He started on some papers that he still needed to complete while waiting for a notification.

After half an hour...

Ding!

As he heard his phone, he dropped his pens and picked up his phone, checking it. He frowned.

[Hey big bro! I'm having a problem with my computer. I am trying to turn on Spotify and play my music but it is saying that something went wrong.]

A picture popped out. It was one of Selena's playlists with all the songs gray and a red small rectangle at the bottom saying:

[¡ Oops, looks like something went wrong.]

In the corner, the Wi-Fi's bars were empty.

He gave a face saying 'are you kidding me?'

[Your Wi-Fi is out Selena, and I don't know how to fix Wi-Fi issues.]

[Aw, that suxs]

[🙄]

He turned his phone off and placed it back on his desk before going back to work.

After fifteen minutes…

Ding!

Ding!

Ding!

His phone went off three times in a row. He looked at it and smiled at two of the notifications, but frowned at the last one.

[Hey Jason! I am so sorry that I didn't respond. Me and Silvia were having a glaring contest.] [Anyway, I'm fine, you?]

Jason laughed, throwing his head back. [I'm doing okay and glaring contest?]

[Yes! She was mad about the fact that I ate her ice cream.]

[Ha, did it have her name on it?]

[No.]

[Well, then it is fair grabs.]

[I KNOW! THAT IS WHAT I TOLD HER!]

Jason laughed, falling off his chair.

Ding!

His phone went off again, and he frowned, standing up and sitting back on his chair.

[BROTHER!!! RESPOND!]

Tapping the notification, it went to his and Selena's messaging screen. The message above the message that was just sent said:

[I fixed the Wi-Fi, and it is still not working. I want to listen to music.]

[Selena, why don't you just download Spotify on your phone. That way you don't need Wi-Fi to listen to your music.]

[... I have no more space on my phone.]

[Then delete something to give you the space that you need.]

[But I need everything.]

[... I try to help you and you don't accept it.]

[How are you trying to help!? You just told me to delete my apps.]

[...]

With that, he exited off of his messaging screen with his sister and went back to the screen with Brianna.

[Anyway Bri, do you want to go out for dinner tonight… maybe as a date perhaps?]

When Brianna receives the question, it takes her a long time to respond.

[Are you sure it will be okay, I mean I don't think that I am ready to have my face all over the news yet.]

[Don't worry about that, I promise that I will book us a private booth and you can wear a disguise.]

[If you swear to keep your promises then fine.]

He smiled happily.

[I swear on my grandmother's grave to keep my promise.]

[Fine, where and when?]

[Where is a surprise and when is tonight at 6.]

[okay, I will make sure that I am ready by then.]

******

Brianna smiled at his messages. This was going to be her first date.

'OMG! What am I going to wear!? I don't even know where he is planning on taking me!' Brianna freaked out in her head, standing up and running off to her room.

Throwing all of her dresses in her closest, she found the perfect dress.

It was four, which gave her the perfect amount of time to get ready for her date with Jason.

She walked into her bathroom, stripping and jumping into the shower.

Coming out, she pulled out her white house robe and wrapped her towel in her hair. She walked out of her room to Silvia's room, knocking on the door before walking in.

Silvia looked at her, a bit confused.

"Sivli baby, can you do my hair?" Asked Brianna.

"Why should I?" Silvia Mocked.

"Because I have a date tonight and I will get you a new tub of chocolate ice cream." Brianna promised.

Brianna wanted Silvia to do her hair because in her view, Silvia is the best at hair. Brianna also trusted Silvia to do her hair more than anyone else.

Silvia smiled, "You got me when you said the tub of ice cream, you got my attention." She said sitting up on her bed.

Brianna smiled.

"And also, who are you going on a date with?" Silvia tilted her head.

"Well, we decided to keep that a secret."

"Come on Bri Baby, don't you trust me? I promise I won't tell anyone." Silvia pleaded, trying to pry open her friend.

Brianna looked down and then looked back at her friend. Brianna did trust her friend and didn't want her friend to think that she didn't trust her.

"Fine, it's Jason Jay."

Silvia's face fell at the name. Jealousy flooded her. "Bri baby, you know that he is probably just trying to play you. I thought you hated him, what made you like him?"

Brianna sighed, "Silvi, don't tell anyone this. But-" Brianna looked at the ground like, "but I liked him when he first met me." She admitted.

Silvia was left in shock, "why didn't you tell me?"

"Because, I wasn't sure if it was actually love, or just need."

Silvia nodded.

"Okay… let's just get your hair done." Silvia forced a smile onto her face. Brianna nodded.

Jason was sitting in his car, watching the time as the minutes ticked by slowly.

5:58 P. M

6:00 P. M

Just at six o'clock, Brianna walked out of the apartment building, and into the car that Jason was sitting in.

Jason was focused on the time, and Brianna knocked on the window to get his attention. He looked up and unlocked the door so Brianna could get in.

Brianna was in a red, off the shoulders dress that had a laced up back. The dress went mid thigh and her hair was in a chignon. Brianna had black sunglasses on to hide her eyes, hoping that no one else will recognize her.

Jason looked over at her, "Ready?"

She looked at him with a nod and they drove off.
