She held it in her hand for a while, waiting for something to happen even while knowing that nothing was probably going to happen. Just when she was about to put it back, a red line formed on the blue crystal ball at the top, cutting it in half.
"Is that supposed to mean something?" She glanced at King Rian suspiciously. That didn't count as lighting up, right? It didn't look like it.
King Rian smiled at her with interest. "It means that your soul is intertwined with that of a water deity. In other words, your mate's element is water."
Nearby, a group of water gods cheered, which made her want to groan. Why did it have to be about that? To make it worse, Dairon gazed at her from a few steps away and gave an evil grin. "I told you" was written all over his face. When a water god talked about having a chance and wanting to seek her later, Dairon gave him a glare that made him shrink away in fear.
