Lu Mengjie was already in bed, holding a book she had yet to finish by the time Bai Jingye entered the dark bedroom. The only source of light came from the lamp beside the bed so he had to press a switch on the wall just to turn on the lights.
"I'm going to stay the night at my study," he said, walking towards the cabinet to get the sleeping bag from inside.
"Let me guess, Han Yizhou, right?" She grinned.
"You won't have to use your brain for that question." He sighed and turned her way. "I apologize for what my mother did to you."
"It's fine, it's not like she's someone I can't handle." She shrugged. "But I do agree that Yizhou has gone far earlier."
Another sigh escaped Bai Jingye's lips. "Don't worry, next week mother will leave with me."
"Ah…" She did remember him telling her about going back to the mainland. "I guess it will be less trouble for me."
"Yes. Less trouble for you."
