"Those are the roles that you can take as a Beast Connoisseur, but you need to finish a quest first before you can be promoted into any of the three roles written on that paper!" The old lady instructed as Urie examined the paper and saw that there were three options for him.
The first option was called an Explorer. It was a role focused on scouring around the area studying about the behaviors of the beasts.
The second option was called a Discoverer. It was a role focused on finding out everything about the beast, especially the undiscovered ones.
The third and the last option was called a Rancher, it was a role focused on collecting all the beasts and taking care of them. This role was more like a passive one.
"What quest do I need to do to get these roles?" Urie asked as the lady seriously looked at him. "At the town next to this, there's a calamity that will befall on it soon! Actively take part in that event and you will be rewarded!"
The sound of notification rang all around the place as an interface appeared in front of him.
[Role Change Quest Incoming!]
[The town of eternal heat was discovered to be facing an incoming danger! Hurry towards the place and try to stop it as soon as you can!
Rewards: ???]
"Why are these rewards always hidden? What's the benefit that they can get from it?" Urie complained inside his head but didn't bother to ask further.
The quest was already logged at the quest log without waiting for Urie's approval, as if it was a mandatory quest that he needed to finish.
"Hurry towards that town, young man! I'll wait for your arrival in the city!" The old lady dismissed him as he went back towards the place where he left the two and saw them, still mesmerized by the items displayed around the room.
"Guys, we need to go now! We can shop later because I received a quest from the old lady and it's an urgent one!" Urie informed the two as they looked at each other and nodded as they exited the Black Market and headed out towards the next town.
While walking on the trail towards the next town. Urie asked the two on how they've got the roles that they have.
The two replied with the same response. They got it together with their Clan Affiliation.
"What? How come I need to finish a quest before I could be promoted?" Urie exclaimed, feeling annoyed.
"What kind of clan are you into? Why does it require you to complete a quest before the promotion? Have heard nothing like that?" Blue Liquor deeply thought then shook his head in defeat to find a clan that works the same as he has.
"Oh! I was recruited by the Connoisseur Clan! I also don't know how, but it all went so fast that I can't believe it!" Urie shrugged and went ahead when he suddenly stopped and stood there in shock.
"What's wrong, Urie? It seems like you have seen a ghos–" Blue Liquor went silent when he saw what Urie saw.
"What's happening with you, guys?" Arie asked as he went towards the place where the two were standing and looked in the direction where they were looking.
A dreadful feeling washed all over his body as a sabertooth beast with grey fur and a black vine as a tail, looked at them as they felt that heavy intimidation that it was exuding.
The three didn't even dare to move a single finger, looking at the beast who just turned around and walked away.
A few moments passed when the beast disappeared, and the fear inside them subsided.
"That was one hell of a scary beast! I thought that I might die any moment!" Blue Liquor exhaled as he wiped that sweat from his forehead that was well transmitted by the Neuro Gear, the device used to log in the game.
"Wait, let's follow it and see what it was! I have a strong feeling that that beast was the key to my mission!" Urie firmly said as his eyes exuded a glare of determination.
"Are you out of your mind? Are you willing to risk your life just to finish that quest? You know what? Abandon that quest!" Arie angrily scolded his elder brother, but the latter helplessly shook his head and sighed.
"I can't abandon the quest because it was a mandatory one and if you don't want to come, I'll finish the quest myself!" Urie frowned and was about to head out towards the direction where the beast left when he felt a tap on his shoulders.
"I don't know what's going on between you two but I'll follow you just to make you safe and as my payment for helping me with my quest and saving me from Neodyne!" Blue Liquor smiled at him and walked with Urie.
"Fine! What can I do to stop you! You're more stubborn than I am!" Arie helplessly surrendered as he followed after the two.
They walked for a while until they crossed hills and rivers and ended up in a dry, rocky place.
It's scorching hot in the area. Embers can be seen continuously escaping from the cracks of the solid ground having the same characteristics as a gravel.
"Are we in some volcanic area?" Arie asked, looking around and examining the area.
"Probably, but that beast seems like it has a Grass Class? I wonder why it went to a place that might harm it?" Blue Liquor asked, as they caught a glimpse of the silhouette jumping over the steep rocks going all the way at the top of a high mountain.
"Wait, if the surrounding area is made of solid rock, that means…" Urie examined the rock they were standing on and the others around them.
"Means what?" Arie asked.
"Means that, were at the foot of an active volcano!" he shouted and looked at the top of the volcano where a beast was valiantly standing while staring at their group.
