[Corvus POV]
Corvus and Anna were eating their lunch together with two loaves of bread. It was such a humble food for Corvus because even though he had been locked for ten years, he did not lack basic necessities, and all his food were still the best.
Though, usually, Corvus would eat alone up there. Watching the maids and the guards ate together and played around. Sometimes they would joke and do a little dance. Corvus, who had been locked inside that tower, could only watch while thinking whether they would accept him if he was there as a human.
'But what about Anna…' Corvus looked up at Anna and stared at her face.
Truly, Corvus could understand why some people wouldn't call Anna the typical beauty. Because she was not those world-shaking beauty that people would drool at.
But for Corvus, he could see her beautiful eyes sparkling with willpower and perseverance. Corvus was not an ambitious man, and he was not aiming for those crazy gorgeous beauties.
In fact, what he need was…
Someone that could warm his lonely heart, a girl that would stay beside him and have their life together in solace, without ambition, without… fear.
He had been chained for so long, something like gold, diamonds, and such thing would not blind him. But Anna seemed to love money, which was alright.
'Since Anna love money so much, can I apologize for what I did in the banquet with gold or diamonds?' Corvus seemed to think for a while. He truly wanted to apologize to Anna about his harming her at the banquet.
Anna sensed that Mister Raven was watching her. She glanced at Mister Raven and smiled, "What is it, Mister Raven? Do you need anything? Perhaps water?" Anna brought a glass of water for herself, but since Mister Raven was thirsty, she put the glass in front of Mister Raven and said, "Drink it. I can get more if you need it."
Corvus stared at Anna, who didn't have an ounce of fear in her eyes. Maybe because Corvus was a raven right now, he didn't know what Anna's expression would look like if he was that cursed prince instead.
Corvus dipped his beak on Anna's glass and drank water. He remembered that he got this glass of water daily. He got better food than Anna daily.
But why did it felt warmer when he ate with Anna instead? Everything tasted better when he ate with Anna instead of eating those fancy food alone in his tower.
Anna looked happy when Mister Raven seemed to be eating and drinking healthy. "Mister Raven, don't forget to keep your health, okay? If you need food, just come to me, and I will give you my food daily. I am Edith's favourite right now. Though she often gives me extra work, at least she pays me enough, and she gives me more food."
Anna looked proud. But Corvus felt it was funny.
'How could someone take pride in cleaning dishes, raking fallen leaves, and eating this stale bread every day?'
But Corvus saw the inextinguishable fire in Anna's black pupil. Which made Corvus' heart beating in a weird tempo than it should be.
Corvus lowered his head again, dared not to look at Anna.
After he was full, Corvus stopped drinking, and Anna smiled after patting his head. He drank the rest of the water without hesitation.
Corvus jolted, he creaked, 'Why would you drink from my glass?! I am dirty! You are just cursing yourself!'
But what Anna heard was just the Raven creaking at her. Anna ignored the Raven until she drank everything.
"What is it, Mister Raven?"
…
…
Suddenly, the Raven stretched his wing and flew far into the sky. Anna watched as her Mister Raven flew around until the Raven disappeared. She thought Mister Raven had disappeared again. So she swiped the crumbs on her maid skirt and readied to do another job.
Corvus went inside his room in the tower again. He didn't have many things inside his room except for some of his clothes and childhood stuff since ten years ago. He remembered that his mother, Queen Seria, often gave him and Ignis jewellery since childhood.
The Jewelries were kept inside two boxes, one for Corvus and one for Ignis.
'This box is full of jewellery that you might want to give to someone special in the future. So save it because each jewel here represents the soul of Lunaris, the Moon Lady.'
That was what his mother, Queen Seria, said.
Like the Raven, Corvus checked the dusty box in his room and opened it.
He saw many pieces of jewellery, from earrings, brooches, bracelets, et cetera.
But Corvus stared at the ring. There was only one ring inside the box, and it was a ring that has been imbued. So when placed on your true love, the ring would engrave with the name 'Corvus' on it.
And it would be the sign that the one wearing the ring was Corvus' true love.
But if she was not, then the ring would not react.
Corvus stared at the ring for a moment and then shook his head.
'Not now, I'm unsure about my feeling. I don't know what love is, and I don't want to be hasty.'
Corvus took a bracelet and bite it with his beak. He flew back towards Anna, who was currently cleaning raking another garden. Corvus perched on Anna's shoulder again. Anna glanced at Mister Raven and frowned when she saw something on Mister Raven's beak.
"What is that?" Anna asked. The Raven said nothing and placed the bracelet on Anna's hand. Anna was confused about where Mister Raven could get something like this. She inspected it and got even more surprised.
"Mister Raven, where did you get something like this?"
'From my jewellery box, of course,' Corvus said in his heart.
