Chapter 61 - Easily Handled

~~~(POV: Nathan Opal)~~~
~~~(Location: Balmorra, Secret Resistance Facility)~~~

My eyes lock with Jedi Master Naero Plaaser, and she's got her blue blade ready for a fight. She slowly moves forward with her guard up and ready for a fight at a moment's notice. "You may no longer be a wanted man, but you're still a threat, Opal. Surrender, and there won't be any bloodshed." She's talking about herself and the people at this base.

I can sense it in her feelings. She's trying to preserve the lives of the soldiers here. "Naero Plaaser... I learned about you back at the temple when I was younger, a Jedi knight at the age of 20. Currently at the height of your power, and you're only 34." She keeps her mind and emotions in check. She's a better Jedi than most. It's impressive.

Her heart rate is slowly rising, and I can see that she's slowly convincing herself that there is a fight ahead with me. "I know quite a bit about you too, Nathan Opal. Too many atrocities against the people of the galaxy to count. Ryloth suffering from you, and its Twi'leks are doomed. Now there are talks of you allying with the Hutt Cartel." She's also got her facts straight.

She's not talking about all the other horrible things I've done, but I've also done a lot of good too. It depends on your perspective, and her's is a righteous Jedi's perspective. "You'd be wise to disengage and let me pass. If you fail to do so, I'll not hesitate to eliminate you." She's in my way, and anyone in the way of my goals is removed.

Sometimes I do it without hurting them, others I have to cause hurt them since pain is the only thing they understand. "What are you doing on Balmorra, and I might consider it..." There is nothing but caution and hesitation in her voice. She's looking for a reason to justify stepping aside. She's afraid of death, how un-Jedi of her.

Telling her my reasons is something many would consider foolish and unnecessary. Most without a brain would demand her death for getting in the way. I do things my way and my way alone, and that's one of the many things that makes me dangerous. "Weapons." My single answer is vague enough to serve its purpose.

Unbalancing Jedi and Sith is something I find fun. While it is sadistic, I can't help myself from enjoying the turmoil I put them in. Make them question things, make them scrabble from a plan just as she's doing. "Balmorra is in the middle of a war. None of the factories would be willing to commission weapons for you." She's come to a conclusion that would be considered just.

She's underestimating my power and the things that I can offer to the people of Balmorra. She'll find out, just not right now. "Sometimes, a solution from a third party is the best option." Before she can even think about responding, I raise my left hand and grip her with The Force. Her lightsaber falls at her side, and she's as stiff as a rock.

Her mind is racing to find a way out, and she tries to push against my grip with her own force powers. It's a futile attempt considering my Force Connection and my abilities. With the simple wave of my hand, over body floats off the ground, and I move her to the side. "You can wait here while I talk to the resistance leaders here." The only things she can move are her eyes.

As I walk past her, I can feel her desperation. She truly believes that I'm here only to cause death and chaos. Too bad for her. She'll be stuck like that until my business on Balmorra is finished. My connection to The Force guides me to the room that I need. Where all the important officers are at this facility, they will be interested in what I have to offer. It's a better alternative.

From what I've learned through The Force, the one in charge around here is named Vera Lorell. She's a resistance leader and is one of the minds behind the campaign against the Empire's forces on Balmorra. The door ahead is where she's behind, along with 2 dozen or so soldiers and officers. The doors tear apart at my approach as I don't bother using a hand, only my mind.
