Chapter 2 - [Chapter 2 : Meet]

The birthday greetings are finally over and the night came. While everyone was having a conversation, Emily stared at the beautiful full moon on the balcony. She was wearing a navy blue gown off shoulder with. She's like a dark blue sky at night. It's beautiful.

She was so attracted to the food on the side of the room that she couldn't even realised a lot of men were looking at her. Then, a tall figure went beside her. "Good evening, master." He bow down.

Diana with a strange face looked to her right and saw a man with a mask and neatly dressed. Master?' "Do I know you?"

He then pulled Emily closer to him, making an eye contact. "Don't you remember me? It's me, Greyson Dalton." Emily was trying to function back. 'Who the hell is this guy.' Greyson giggles seeing the looks on her face. Emily back up a bit, making a little space between them. It was an awkward silence.

'Dalton? Sounds so familiar-' Emily's eyes widened. 'He is George's brother.' He grabbed a lock of Emily's hair, looking at her with a calm smile. "It's fine if you don't. I've been gone from your sight for too long." His black eyes were gorgeous. His skin is white as a snow, a soft touch from him is like a touch from an angel. He's definitely a pretty boy.

Emily looked back as she heard a light, clear ringing sound. A man was tapping on the glass with a spoon, taking everyone's attention. "Let's start the dance, should we?"

George and his partner start dancing at the middle of ballroom. A beautiful waltz dance, pleasant to behold. He had all eyes on him. Who could resist such a gorgeous man? Dancing with a beautiful person, what a dream come true.

Emily and Greyson just stood there, watching them dancing. "That is Lady Adela Stephen, the closest girl to be his fiancé" He whispered into Emily's ear. Emily eyes pointed to the girl who's dancing with George. Long brown hair, grey eyes, yellow quince dress. Greyson again, whispered into her ears.

"Is your leg sore? I can take a chair for you."

"No, I insist."

"Are you sure? You're my guest. I'll do anything to please you."

"I'm sure. You're present already making me comfortable."

He flushed hearing it. Such a simple words, but it's so sweet. The dance finally ends with a bowing, everyone applause.

Emily looked around, looking for someone to talk with. Greyson tapped her shoulder, giving her one glass of champagne. "Cheers!" Emily took a sip. The champagne taste bitter at first but she get used to it after taking another sip. Looking around, she didn't see her parent. They probably talking with other guest.

"Diana, it's been so long since I've seen your face. It's nice to meet you here." A man voice was heard from behind. Emily looked behind to see a man on their 30's. He looked at her with a smile on his face. Next to him was a woman with yellow Marie Antoinette dress.

Judging by their looks and face, they are probably Lady Adela Stephen's parent.

"It's nice to meet you too." She bow down. Her eyes were examining him. He seems like a polite and a nice guy.

"So, aren't you going to greet him?"

"Who?"

"Prince George."

"He's busy talking with other people so I don't think he'll have time to look at me."

"He had time to give my daughter attention but couldn't even spare a second to even look at you? How unfortunate can you be?" He giggles. Emily looked at him, strange. 'He couldn't even do an insult joke. What is he laughing at? Who is this joke for? Is there someone behind me?'

Greyson is not there to accompany her. Guess she'll be stuck in this conversation. She sighed, tilting her head to the side. Her eyes were looking around, and they were focusing on a tall man, George. He was having a talk with her parent. Then, George turned his head, catching Emily looking at him. A direct-eye contact was made.

Emily turned her eyes away, focusing on the person in front of her. Back to the boring talk when someone suddenly tap her shoulder. "Hello, master." It was Greyson.

"Hello, Greyson." She was glad. Someone who can help her get out of the crowd. Suddenly, Emily can feel a breath from behind. She froze.

Emily took a quick glance to see George, standing so close to her from behind. It was making her uncomfortable. Greyson can see the uneasy look on Emily's face.

"Hello, George. Do you mind giving the guest personal spaces?" Greyson said.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was going to have a chit-chat with her."

Emily was stood there, wanted to leave the ball. It's getting boring to her. Fancy food that doesn't even fill her stomach, upper people gossiping around, no fun at all. She imagined the picture of a normal classic birthday party.

No drama, or finding love like movies always have. Such a boring reality. She turned around and walk towards the exit. "Where are you going, Diana?"

"I don't really have anything to do here so I think I'll take my leave here."

"Leaving already? But it's so early and plus, I have so much to talk about with you." Greyson pouted. Clearly he was waiting for a perfect moment to talk with her and George ruined the vibe.

"Okay, hope you'll have a safe ride back home." He wished her farewell.

"Hope you birthday's ball goes well too." She was about to leave when Greyson pulled her hand. "You need anything?" She tilt her head. "Can we maybe.. uh, meet another day?" Her smile widen on her face. "Sure"

Emily walked toward her carriage outside. The ball wasn't very interesting as how people said about it. At least she talked to someone.
