Chapter 200 - Thomas for Demon Sovereign

The Luminous Shuttle glided gracefully through the cosmic currents, its sleek form adorned with the resplendent emblem of Mars in a ring of fire. Kallana, her violet eyes harboring a mix of determination and trepidation, watched from her palace's observatory as the ship approached.

Lulu, familiar with such cosmic journeys, retained her composure, while Ye Kan's eyes darted around, observing the diverse array of demons through the holographic windows.

The demons outside were a testament to the vastness and diversity of the demon domain. Low-rank gray demons, with almost identical appearances giving an eerie uniformity, mingled with Meras, beings inheriting traits from other species. There were also partially transformed demonic beasts, known as Daemons, a term coined by Thomas himself.

As the Luminous Shuttle approached the Imperial City's landing port, reserved exclusively for the Empress and her esteemed guests, a palpable tension filled the air. The imperial meeting chamber awaited.

In the chamber, Lulu and Ye Kan sat in silence, sipping tea, their eyes occasionally flickering towards Thomas, the central figure in the unfolding drama. Kallana, the Violet Moon Demon Empress, began the discussion with a stern rebuke directed at Thomas for his audacious attack on the Children of Pride and the Sonad Family.

Cheeks pulled and a playful pout adorned Kallana's face as she delivered the reprimand. However, beneath the surface, there was an unspoken understanding and camaraderie between the empress and the former human boy. The Children of Pride and the Sonad Family, weakened by Thomas's earlier assault, had been swiftly dealt with by Kallana's forces. The demon clans, seizing the opportune moment, finished the Sonad Clan and divided their meager assets.

Thomas avoided Kallana's gaze, feigning ignorance as if he had nothing to do with the disappearance of the fortune of the Sonad, leading to exchanged glances and shared laughter between them. Kallana, though amused by the swift bond formed, couldn't shake the disquiet within her.

Her earlier joy seemed distant as she ruminated on her circumstances. Adopted by a family that allowed her autonomy, she found herself still bound by an engagement to Saros, a Demon Emperor and Deputy Chief of the Demon Domain's Law Enforcement Department. His once powerful clan, though now of lesser importance, still posed a challenge due to his elevated position.

True, Kallana's own Violet Moon Demon Clan had grown formidable over the past century, yet it languished outside the top one hundred clans, not even among the great ten thousand. As she pondered her engagement, a message arrived, congratulating her on the victory over the Sonad Clan and announcing preparations for the engagement ceremony.

Unable to contain her emotions, Kallana ushered Thomas to a more secluded space within her palace, employing soundproof formations to ensure privacy. She, emotionally charged, confided in Thomas, explaining the complexities of her circumstances.

Thomas, his eyes reflecting the fiery determination of a true deity, listened as Kallana unburdened her heart. "Do you have any plan for dealing with this?" he inquired.

Head shaking with a melancholic gaze, Kallana admitted her ideas were too crude, awaiting Thomas's insight. Scratching his chin, the deity considered before uttering, "Well, I have one idea that might work. Didn't you say the demon domain is too divided and full of internal conflicts? My own home is safe now, so I thought of uniting the demons and having them become allies of Pantheon."

Intrigued by the prospect, Kallana recognized the potential in Thomas's idea. The entire demon race, born of corruption by the sin force, was under the control of Nathan, and the demon domain, though vast, could potentially be united under his banner.

"Yes, this could work. My engagement ceremony will take place in the highest seat of the demon domain at the Seven Sins Demon Palace. Even better, the demon palace is preparing to select the next demon sovereign this year. We can go there before it so I can introduce you as a candidate for the Sovereign position to the Council of the Ancients," Kallana affirmed.

"Demon Sovereign?"

"Umm." Kallen nodded. "From what you told me, it is similar to the position of the Human Alliance head seat or a country's president."

Thomas understood what she meant but he had to ask one more thing. "So let's see if I got this right, there's going to be an election, and you want to put me forward as a candidate. Isn't this essentially me becoming a politician?"

"Well, yes, but this way you will have the majority of the Seven Sins Demon Palace in your hands. Even if we can't take the whole demon domain, it should be able to get you the highest authority in the Demon Palace. From there, it will be easier to reach the other sectors and demon clans. The only requisite for a candidate is having recommendation letters from three demon clans with an emperor, which I can get for you without any problem. Additionally, you need to have the strength of a peak demon emperor. See, it's perfect. We just need a clear plan for your campaign as a candidate for sovereign demon."

United by their common goal, Kallana and Thomas spent the night refining their plan to take the demon domain without unnecessary bloodshed. Lulu and Ye Kan, hearing the plan for the first time, found its feasibility intriguing.

Kallana, having learned of the major factions in the higher realms, deities now extinguished, the Immortals, Spirits, Fairies, and rumors of entities from opposing universes, hatched a new idea. Not only would they make Thomas the Demon Sovereign, but also their Deity, a potent boost for the entire race, as the young deity still lacked an established domain.

As Titanos, Thomas had been given the domain of life and earth. With complete understanding of these laws, affinity to all elements, and a small authority over the domains of every celestial of Gaia's lineage, he possessed the potential to create his own domain as a deity. The idea gained approval from every deity in Thomas's system, and the decision was unanimous.

Now, in Kallana's back garden, over tea, Lulu couldn't resist asking about Kallana's initial plan to break her engagement before Thomas's intervention. The empress blushed, detailing thoughts of fleeing to Mars or another world beyond demon influence, or even seducing the young deity to secure his help. Thomas facepalmed, grateful he agreed to help without hesitation, providing not only assistance but also a more practical plan.

Five days before the engagement ceremony, Kallana and Thomas embarked on her private, luxury vessel, the Violet Storm Demon Ship. The ship, a celestial masterpiece, bore her Demon Clan's crest on its hull. As they journeyed towards the Seven Sins Demon Palace, Lulu and Ye Kan stayed behind, aware of potential turbulence. Thomas, ready to face demon emperors, couldn't risk the safety of his sister-figure and friend, who were yet to reach the level of emperors.
