The descent through the thin Martian atmosphere was very smooth. He navigated through the familiar sky, streaking through the red-tinged heavens with grace. As he approached the colonies, the colossal energy signatures and the demonic energy storm stood out like beacons, unsettling the creatures in the vicinity.
Mars, with its alien landscape, revealed its unique features. The once-ruined peak of Mt. Olympus now stood proud and untouched. The aura of the entire planet exuded a warmth and recognition, as if the very essence of Mars acknowledged Thomas's divine heritage, his Titan blood resonating with the dormant spirit of Gaia.
Summoning Luke and the other humanized beasts, Thomas dispersed them to various cities with instructions to neutralize demonic energy. He set his course for Dexia City, gracefully dispatching demonized beings along the way. His movements were swift and precise, choosing to end only those who carried heavy sins.
As Dexia City loomed in the Martian horizon, a sudden cyan flash disrupted Thomas's descent, sending him crashing onto a nearby rock. Beside him stood a winged figure, unmistakably Luccas. Long cyan hair.
"Luccas?" Thomas's voice held a mix of surprise and suspicion. The youth before him, though familiar, emanated an air of mystery.
With a sigh, Luccas launched into a relentless assault, the wind itself bending to his will to both soften Thomas's attacks and sharpen his own. The Martian canyons became the backdrop for a grand confrontation, each strike echoing through the silent landscape.
A resonating laugh filled the Martian air as Luccas stepped forward, revealing two pairs of glowing wings. There was no hostility in his gaze, only caution and a profound seriousness. "Sorry, Thomas, but you shouldn't have gotten involved. There's a crucial reason the deities disappeared, and I can't let you bring them back."
The exchange intensified, and the surroundings were reduced to rubble. Meanwhile, Luccas's movements were fluid, a manifestation of a power tied to ancient blood coursing through his veins.
Mid-combat, Thomas found himself compelled to question his enigmatic opponent. "Luccas, why stand against me? What's the real reason behind your actions?"
Luccas, his figure shrinking against the Martian horizon, replied, "I'm not my dad's true son. I'm a child sent to the lower realms. Mr. Kyle, the demon mercenary, was hired to take care of me. He served as a connection between me and the demon domain. But there are limitations from the boundary of a lower realm. I was forced to restrict my memories when I was four and lived on Earth with my dad until I awakened my memories one day."
As they clashed, Thomas, deflecting and evading, probed further. "You need to tell me, Luccas. What's at stake here? Why would deities need to vanish?"
Luccas, evading Thomas's spear with a grace only a spirit could possess, finally responded amidst the cyclone of blows, "It's an ancient pact, Thomas."
Luccas elaborated on the complex dynamics of the Spirit World, his birthplace and currently the mightiest among the nine planes, along with the Immortal World. The two paramount beings from these realms had forged a pact with a transcendent expert to safeguard their domains from destruction, with the stipulation that no new deities connected to the core laws of the universe should emerge. Consequently, immortals and high spirits were tasked with hunting down and preventing the birth of such deities, even dispatching agents to every realm to ensure their mission's success."
"Luccas," Thomas urged, "there must be another way. We can find a solution that doesn't condemn our worlds to decay."
But Luccas, determined and resolute, countered each plea with graceful strikes. "Thomas, I bear a duty to maintain the balance. But I can feel you are not a new god, you carry the air of an old and ancient deity much olden than the spirit world. I shouldn't risk my life fighting you. My time on Earth was nice, Thomas. I'll let you deal with the current situation."
In a surprising twist, Luccas asserted that the essence emanating from Thomas did not signify a new god but rather an ancient deity which freed him from his duty of hunting Thomas, at least it was a good excuse and he went with it. This revelation absolved Thomas of the need to risk his life in battle. Luccas expressed gratitude for his time on Earth and entrusted Thomas with the responsibility of addressing the current situation."
As Luccas soared into the Martian sky, Thomas sensed a tinge of remorse in Luccas for the chaos that had inadvertently seeped into humanity.
Before he left, he turned once more and grinned mischievously. "As for that girl Clarisse, her origin is a mystery even to me. You are one lucky bastard indeed, just don't let her suck you dry, okay? Bye."
Leaving at that, Luccas left as Thomas stood in place completely stunned with what he just heard, trying to make sense of it.
