Chereads / The Deity Index System / Chapter 164 - Bastion City

Chapter 164 - Bastion City

The trip had taken them more than four times as long than it had to reach the deadlands, but soon the vast plains of the main continent.

As he was told by the sky kings, the main continent was the only continent in this world while it was surrounded by over five thousand islands scattered across the sea.

Thomas kept flying for a few more couple hours, crossing the extensive plains until a large walls and floating islands were seen from afar. That was the biggest city of the continent, Bastion.

Without wasting time Thomas entered the city went to a inn near the city gate he heard good things about from beasts nearby.

He neared the attendant, a white boar.

"Hi, I would like to rent a room."

"Welcome Customer, thanks for choosing our Northern Star Inn. A night is three coins." The attendant was very amiable and she gazed as this mysterious purple-orange lion, noticing she had never seen such a colorful lion before. Then hers eyes caught sight of the little lulu resting on Thomas' back and her eyes shone.

She written something then passed a piece of yellow stone key. "You can have the room on the second floor. Just open it with this key."

"Thanks." Thomas grabbed the stone key and left to the second floor. However, not must longer after Thomas' face turned green as he listened to the voices down the stairs.

"Filig, did you see? I've never seen that type of lion before, that purple-orange fur is so beautiful. His daughter was also very cute, where do you think those two came from?"

As expected, people were indeed mistaking the small lulu on his back as his own daughter. He was a little embarrassed because he was still to young to be called a father but he kept his mouth shut since Lulu haven't noticed it yet. Otherwise it would be she who would go out of her way to mess with him about it.

Inside the rented room, Thomas let Lulu on one of the two beds as he himself sat on a chair and closed his.

'Wait, I seem to have been forgetting something. Oh, right...'

Waving his hand, the Necrosphere shone and a another small lion appeared in the room. The small lion jumped and gave a angry tap of his shoulder before pouting her cheeks.

"It sure took you a while."

"Sorry, Nana."

Right, Nana had come along as well. It was not like he wanted to bright her but the little lioness was so adamant about her choose her sister and dad couldn't convince her otherwise so he brought her with him.

He even built a small playground inside the Necrosphere with it's own private space so the other inhabitants of the sphere can't get to it.

This was certainly not the only thing that changed, in fact Nana's yellow fur had darkened a lot and was now full of patches of purple and orange fur.

Right, before leaving for here, he was doing some experiments with his blood and it's special effects while this little one snuck in and stole a flask of the blood for herself.

It turned to she heard from her sister how Thomas' blood was the reason for her recovery as well the new abilities she gained and the little sister wanted it as well.

From there one can imagine how things turned out. In the end, Thomas wasn't angry about it since he saw those two as close kin.

Thomas made sure Nana and Lulu were comfortable and also ordered food and drinks for them. The food was made from fish that couldn't develop their intelligence, so it wasn't much different from the fishes he ate on Earth.

Taking some distance, Thomas closed his eyes and spread his senses across the city. Currently, his senses were more than enough to scan through the entire city and beyond.

This particular fish that had exceptional life force from birth, and when its flesh was eaten, it strengthened one's physique.

One thing one needed to understand was that unlike on earth, there was no such thing as countries, or a kingdom and empires in this world. True, there still some form o federacy based on the strength of the beast clans of greater power having the most authority in each city, but they didn't have the notion of nationalism or identity like humans developed along the years.

The places he saw in Lavitein were just a small cultural difference between two different worlds, it was something only those born in here could understand similar to how the system couldn't translate some words because it's meaning couldn't be transmitted with mere words.

As for this city of Bastion, things were pretty much as expected. In terms of size it was far too big, there were so many lifeforces present he stipulated a population of one hundred million.

It must be known that on earth, the most populated human city only has a population of sixty two million and that is because it houses all the refugees from an incident which caused the collapse of the entire South-American Continent, a continent that now became a playground for lycanthropes.

After a quick scan, Thomas decided to go out and experience the city for himself.

The city was bustling with life. Everywhere they those magical beasts were moving back and forth, bustling and busy with their own lives.

This place was also a lot more advanced than the cities on Lavitein, that could be seen from the city lights everywhere, very tall buildings made of an unknown material that wasn't stone neither some kind of metal ore.

Thomas easily found the place he was looking for. The seamstress Lulu told him about was truly mystifying and a bit scary. This is his first time seeing a two meter tall spider, it's five-colored body was very pretty, though.

From the start, Thomas never saw thought himself to be afraid of spiders but this one nearly proved him wrong.

Due to the same reasons he put out before, few beasts even came to this place to order clothes. So it was easy to find the seamstress, Madam Luzeti.

When he came over with sheets and more sheets filled with designs never seen before made this old spider's eyes all shone brilliantly.

The designs he brought weren't merely from ordinary clothes but also from some of the secret blueprints he saw in that research center.

One was a soft inner armor made of Anima-infused Fibber that could resist any thing with exception of energy attacks and Anima-Infused Shells. Of course he didn't need something that powerful, at least an inner armor that was soft as well resilient enough.

"Woah, what a interesting design little one. Is these for you or for a friend? Because I can't see how it would fit in your body."

"No, it's for me." Saying that, Thomas made some effort and his body transformed into a partial human form, still covered in fur and with a pair of lion ears but still a humanoid body.

This form he was currently using was a mid-term between his titan and human form. In any case he could still control his height to make as close to his human-form.

"Ohh..." The huge spider's eyes lit up but she didn't said anything about it and turned her body around before she pointed to a room on the left. "Okay, then follow me to get your sizes."

One week later, Thomas walked on the streets with both Nana and Lulu. he was currently very happy to return to his human form and the tactic suit he wore was perfect.

For now he already had plan, he would still spend some more time playing with the girls before taking them back to Lavitein.

He thought a lot on the way and decided nice he couldn't go back to earth, he should go for the second best thing, the demon domain.

He was sure there would be the coordinates to Earth and he would also be able to sabotage the demonic invasion.

The only thing he needed was a vessel, a ship to travel through the rifts. But, the one in the deadlands was certainly not an option, not only it's current status unknown, it's workings were a complete mystery.

No, it was best to build his own vessel by using the skills he learned. It didn't need to of a high grade, just enough to cross the space between the worlds.

Thomas had a couple ideas already, but he would have to wait and see if it could work.
