*SHHHHHHINNNNNG*
A brilliant flash of light greater than all the previous one nearly blinded Thomas who felt a stinging pain in his head. Now he understood why the old Sage never opened his eyes.
When the light receded, the old man was glad when his hand dipped into the furnace and caught a bright green pearl the size of a grain of rice.
Feeling the strong medicinal smell leaking he immediately stored it in a black obsidian bottle he picked from the shelves.
"It's done."
After that it took fifteen minutes for the sleepy Nana to wake up. Sweeping her eyes across her surrounding she noticed they were already back in the Sage's wooden hut.
Thomas and the Sage seemed to have been talking for quite a while as they both had smiles on their faces.
Seeing as the young miss had woken up, the Sage then turned around and extended his hand holding onto the black bottle. "I already have the pill with me."
At this point her face turned ugly as she noticed something. "I can't believe I nearly forgot it. Sorry, but what's the payment for this pill?
The old man only waved his hand. "No need. I already gained a lot from your friend so I don't need anything."
"Really!?" The young lioness stood up and immediately prostrated as she thanked him with all sincerity as she received the bottle from him. "Thank you so much..."
The old demon then helped her get up then said in a solemn tone. "Before you go treat her, I believe it's time this old man clarifies something. Are you aware of what exactly is happening to your sister?"
The little lioness nod meekly. "En I know she's suffering of Primal Fever and her stage is pretty advanced. I only confused before we are so far away from the north where the Fever originates from. It shouldn't be possible for it to happen."
"Primal Fever is more complex than you think. As you know, the Earthly Core Lions is one of lineages descended from the Great Lion Emperor, true Grade 9 Beast with Equivalent Battle Power. In the end The Earthly Core Lions are a Grade 4 Lineage and other than the current patriarch, there are no other 5-star Beasts which shows how difficult it is for Grade 4 Beasts to advance further than their innate talent."
"In your sister's case, you second sister has a staggering talent as the only one of her generation among your tribe to have reached 4-star Battle Power and thus completing her Natural Growth as Grade 4 before maturity. For this, it shows how great of a talent she is which could show why this is happening to her.."
"The Primal Fever can happen because of many reasons, but the most common and the one your sister has is when a beast makes contact with a certain force, it provokes certainly changes on a beast. With my quick visit, I was able to confirm her case is the second one which only happens when the beast had a ancient blood as it is the most prideful and orthodox bloodlines. Your second sister is very talented and upon entering contact with a higher state of energy, her body showed signs of evolution. At the same time we have genes of her same ancestors having a constant battle against these changes, doing their best to resist this change. At some point she would have to chose between tapping into her own lineage, hoping to recover the abilities of her ancestors or to evolve into something new."
By the side, Thomas just kept hearing everything the Sage spoke while feeling these words weren't directed just to Nana but to himself.
"If we let it be there is no assurance which side would win, her past ancestry or the coming evolution. The only thing I'm sure it is her body won't resist long enough for either side to achieve victory. Of course, for a beast to reach the border of evolution is very rare to the point it has never happened here in this island. And since it is an natural occurrence instead of a disease, I have no ways to cure her."
As soon Nana realized what he meant, she stoop up. "Wait, why did Sage tell us to gather the herbs then if it can't be cured."
Before the Sage could reply, Thomas who was quiet until now opened his mouth. "According to what he says, there is no need to cure her after all since what she needs is only the means to help her reach a decision between her ancestry or evolving into something else. I also believe these herbs, once refined into a potion will do exactly that. Isn't that, right? However, we should not be only one to know it since the Water Lions Offered a medicine that could potentially cure her as long she marries into their tribe..."
Nana slowed down upon hearing Thomas, it took her some effort to think and suddenly her eyes widened. "Are you saying they knew it's not a illness? If so we should tell daddy, the water lions should already be there!"
"Calm down." Thomas held her body as she was about to run out of the hut. "No worries, we can deal with it."
Turning to the Sage, Thomas cupped his hands in respect. "Thanks the old Sage for the hospitality, but we have to go now."
"Great, there is no need to worry about this old sack of bones. Just remember to return later so we can continue our conversation."
