Thomas immediately pushed back Nana then rose his hand in a defensive way. With quick movements the young lioness moved from the bed to Thomas at surprising speed with her sharp claws aimed at him.
"Titan God's Hand!" Three pairs of Illusory hands grabbed the lioness in the air before it could reach him.
"Calm down!" Thomas pressed his hand on the second miss's head, the latter eyes were wide and filled with bloodlust but when his fingers touched her head, the beast twisted violently. All the red light cleaned and the beast lost consciousness.
"Phew." Signing in relief Thomas looked down at the lioness who's now somewhat stabilized before noticing several scratches and thin holes on his skin from where lines of blood fluid oozed out. Thomas realized the young miss is scarier than first expected, her claws didn't managed to get to him but somehow it still left lots of thin holes on his skin.
"Mister!" Nana run over to him and started inspecting his injuries, still surprised that Thomas could deal with her sister's frenzy all by himself.
"No." Thomas waved his hand, "I'm fine."
Stepping next to the bed, Thomas held onto the unconscious lion's paw as he gave a nod with his head. Yes, there was indeed some raging force lurking in the beast's blood vessels. Instantly he felt his own baleful aura show some reactions.
"This turns out to be worse than I expected." Giving proper examination and scanning all the beast energy pathways, he noticed the lioness was in a critical state. With just a quick examination, it was clear the difference between him and the unconscious beast before him.
While this evil force was similar to his own baleful aura, it passed a feeling like something more primal. Looking's at how all the nerves, muscles and energy pathways were shredded by the evil aura, it became clear it couldn't distinguish allies from foes and simply attacking anything and anyone, including it's host.
"This is a problem, your sister's state is worse than I thought. Wait, Nana, do you have the ingredient list with you?"
Nana was taken aback, then searched through her sister's belongings before running back with a black shard in hands. "Here! The ingredient list is in this shard. However, there are other things in here even my dad can't understand."
As soon his eyes fell upon the shard, a voice resounded in his ear.
[Kez'Ganak: Boy, this is Mnemonic Crystal, it a ancient tool for recordings of text, techniques and other ancient information. The old demon clans used to store all their Legacy Demon Arts in fragments like these. This one doesn't seem to be encrypted so just press it against your forehead.
Thomas stopped, he thought of something then received the shard. "No problem, no matter which language it is, I should be able to read it."
With the black shard now in hands, Thomas closed his eyes and tried to .
It took him over one minute to figure out how to read the contents of the shard and when he did, his body froze...
"Ries?" Nana continued to stare at Thomas with a trace of anticipation, lashed with anxiety, was hung upon his gaze. This was the first person who seems to know about her sister's condition, and he also seems to share something similar.
Even she didn't know why, but she firmly believed Thomas would be able to help her.
After twenty minutes, Thomas recovered from his previous stupor. His eyes were completely lit up. "Kez, have you seen those words before?"
[Kez'Ganak: No, It does not belong to any demon dialect that I know of, at least not of this era.]
"I see, Nana your sister seems to be infected with something called Primal Fever." At this point Thomas felt very conflicted, It seems her condition is something called Primal Fever and it's not just something similar to a demon's baleful aura as it worked exactly the same.
It's greatest difference was the intensity of the aura and how it would completely destroy the host's body before he or she could completely lose their minds.
"Primal Fever!? How can it be..." Nana's thin face turned completely white as she struggled against the pain in her heart. This is exactly what she and her family feared the most of happening. Shouldn't Primal Fever only happen in the extreme north of the mainland?
If there was one illness all beasts feared it would be this one, wherever one starts to manifest it.
Some times it would take years for the fever to show itself but once it manifested, the beast would regress into a feral state while the evil aura sinks its claws into its host. In her current state she was nearly at a terminal phase, unless her body can hold back the aura, she really won't go past two to three days.
Thomas pulled spatial storage and a shiny green bottle of grass. He covered her with the blanked as he turned to Nana. From what Nana told him, her sister should be twelve years older than so she's around 32-32 years old... Yet she still looked like a slightly bigger cub than her younger sis.
"This in my hands is a rejuvenating elixir, it should improve her body condition give us some more time."
Even in her unconscious state, the lioness shivered her nose once he brought the green potion closer. She quietly sniffed on it before opening her mouth.
Once all its content was poured into her stomach, her pain-filled expression eased by a lot as she continued in her sleep.
"Nana, you have all the ingredients right?"
"Er, no. Most are with me but the rest is in my elders sister's bedroom."
"I see, then go take the remaining ingredients. We are going to see the Sage and see how we can refine these herbs into proper medicine. I'm curious to how these herbs can help against her illness." Once Thomas made his decision to help Nana's sister, he won't go back. However, he couldn't lie to himself and say he wasn't curious about this Primal Fever, its so similar to a demon's baleful aura it makes him think if it's treatment would have any effect on him
