Kez'Ganak had told him engaging in killing would flare up his demon instincts, yet he still managed to hold on for quite some time.
Instantly, Thomas felt something strange in his body, all the dark red baleful aura se detached from his heart, his body immersed into intense heat.
Eyes turned bloodshot, and a dense red air manifested forming a dense cloud of red mist which spread over a hundred meters. Images of himself walking by a land of death, the warm feeling of blood falling on his face and body seemed to awake his deepest desires.
Just the mere smell of the crimson water seemed to move every fibber of his body.
[Thomas, Thomas?!] (Dike)
[It's seems he can't hear us anymore. So nothing we say will reach him. Now I know, even mortal illness can be dreadful.] (Prometheus)
[Respected Gods, what do we do? Thomas is giving in to his instincts.] (Kez'Ganak)
Seeing the scene in the outies reaching this point, all the gods Thomas has synchronized with were watching with grave faces.
Given Kez's identity as small mortal of the demon race, he was the most terrified of the group.
Despite being the weakest, he is the most failing with the baleful aura of the demons. Even if it's origin was unknown, the danger it poses to all demons was frightening high.
[It's fine, he must resist through it or he would never achieve his true purpose.] (Bonher)
[Get a hold of yourself boy!] (Ἀχλύς)
A trace of clarity energy in his eye for a bright moment, Thomas then closed his eyes and forced himself into a meditative state.
'Arggg ahhh!' The pain from holding back his inner desires brought forth an unbearable pain which seemed to engulf his whole body.
As if reacting to Thomas' current state and the peril he faced, the mysterious light hiding deep in his consciousness acted once more.
When the light left the space it dwelt in, the evil aura froze, as if a ferocious beast that was about to feed on its prey had seen its greatest fear.
A mighty mountain entered his view as a multicolored ring of light manifested above his head from which the colors blue, red, green, orange, yellow and violet. Those colors mixed
'.....' In the system internal space all gods in the first layer stood up no matter which pantheon, tribe or constellation they belonged as they came to the same conclusion.
There is actually a Six-colored soul in his body!
Humans, demons, plants, trees, minerals, everything had its soul even if it couldn't be seen. Back then, wherever a mortal or deity was born, it would be granted a color. The amount of colors a soul bearing would represent the potential and growth of entity.
As deities, every single one of them was born with a divinity core and a 7-colored soul. Mortals, more specifically humans had souls varying between 1 to 3 colors. And while the grade of a soul didn't grant any power, it influenced how much power one could handle without losing his or her mind as well many other factors that are unknown even to gods.
8-colored souls were the rarest of them all and the limit the mortal and netherworld could handle, only the Ten existed throughout the two lower realms and they existed way before their generation. There are also legends about the higher realms having deities with 9-colored souls, but they had never been there to see if it was true.
To a mortal, 6-colored souls used to be the absolute limit, no matter which species, human, beast, dragon, and even demigods. This was a level which none of them could hope to surpass.
Then that incident happened, all their fates and stories were brought to an end. That shock with two different universes in route of collision brought forth a change in the heavenly laws and how the universe worked.
All their legacies lost, billions of years of knowledge and wisdom were gone in a matter of seconds.
Even its deepest foundation was shattered and then rebuilt. All souls given birth by the universe had 1-colored souls.
In their last moments, it was believed the mortals had no way of escaping their inevitable fate. When they woke up, they realized the mortals hadn't been extinct as they believed but had become greater than ever.
New species such as the demonic beasts and demons, spirits, lycanthrope, all races bearing power despite the weakening in the existence of all souls. Evens existences beyond anything they could imagine now existence, with power exceeding even the greatest of the gods.
The old protectors of the mortal realm understood this was a new era, one's face was decided by the grade of their souls. One didn't need to born powerful, instead they could fight for it.
All the remaining thoughts of the gods were then presented and stored for generations until somebody worth of their powers, somebody who would restore the balance before it was too late.
A 6-colored soul was beyond the level of a mortal and something which would be deemed impossible, yet it was present before their eyes.
At the third and highest layer of the system space, seven figures were staring at the wheel of light around Thomas' head.
They were the only existences in this layer and the past rulers of the former celestial realm.
A mature woman dressed in a phoenix dress and with ice cold complexion waved her fan, "So this is all he could find? While it is rare for a mortal to have a six-colored soul, it is too little of a grade considering the purpose of the system. What do you guys think?"
An old man with black hair and a expression filled with wisdom sat at the ground while seeping at his wine. "Don't judge a book by its cover. That person should know what he does, if he believes this young man is capable then so do I. Still, don't you think he's quite similar to brother Sun and Little Moon?"
A gentle girl in a long white gown was the one looking at the scene with utmost concentration. It took a while for hear to notice what the others were saying, and still replied without taking her eyes off Thomas.
"That boy is cute and his power are similar to mine, if he's able to resist this peril I shall give him a reward."
All the six other in the space with the gentle girl frowned, it was well known this old hag liked young and innocent men but it was unexpected even as a remnant soul her old tastes still preserved.
