When the elevator reached the lowest level, its doors opened, but there was no one inside it. The doors of the elevator closed and then from its shadow a purple form emerged.
'A non-authorized factory... What in the hell is they working on?" Thomas had his own guesses but he needed to wait.
At this hours most of the human workers and other employees were gone leaving only the working droids doing all the work.
"Flame, are the cameras still active? Flame Empress? This must be cutting the communications, if so then its best to make sure."
Upon a closer look, Thomas noticed all the boxes were filled with mechanic parts, metal plates, strange devices being taken somewhere else."They... are building something?"
The model of the droids weren't unfamiliar as well, Hijia Corp's latest class 8 working droid. In Fact everything in this installation from all the mechanic arms, lasers, to the security cameras were modified versions of Hijia's, not their official products.
Well, Hijia was the largest manufacturer of droids in the western colonies of mars so it made sense.
This factory seemed to be producing an astronomies amount of weaponry. Energy Guns, Swords, Gunpowder Guns, battle armors, personal shields...
"Why need so many guns, they don't seem to be made with the purpose of selling. Are they building an army?" Who would need so many weapons that couldn't be used on dimensional creatures? This could only mean one thing. Thomas felt something big was about to happen.
The security was too heavy Thomas couldn't even find a blind spot so he could sneak in the facility.
"I wouldn't be able to go further with normal means..." Purple mist clouded his eyes as Thomas melted into his shadows and reappeared before a large door at the utmost end of the factory.
"This should be the control room." Luckily to him, his moonshadow demon form could bypass almost all sorts of security measures.
Inside the room.
A huge sphere was suspended in the air and Thomas immediately recognized this quantum computer.
Waving his hand, he pulled out a jet black gauntlet out of his spatial storage. QC-JGK 31000, it is a personal quantum computer he got by exchanging his Adept Points.
Putting on the gauntlet, Thomas reached out to the metal sphere and pressed in the air.
...Pi!
The sphere lit up as a massive holo screen was projected in front of him. With his
Projects for weapons, blueprints, all sorts of informations about the productions of the equipment. All which seemed to letal to be considered legal by the alliance. Thomas was about download it all when a single blueprint drew his attention.
Thomas also found messages exchanged between the owner of this factory and somebody else abut an attack against Lakebell and something else about a secret project, but it didn't specify where or when it would happen.
'Shit this thing could power tens of airships. Wait there is something over there.' Pressing a button, a projection appeared in the middle of the room.
"Oh boy..."
The projection of a large humanoid body over six meters tall, menacing and powerful looking.
Thomas didn't expect he would see it, just like in the tv shows he watched as a child.
Well, a partially assembled mech but still a mech nonetheless. It was made with parts bought from the black market and had technologies from several different companies.
In the documents it was stated the mech before him was just a prototype from a project codenamed "Anima Knight". Some of its blueprints were found, but it didn't seem to be a finished product yet and the projection was only a simulation of it's form.
"The sun is rising, I can't stay here anymore. Yet, I let them finish this project." Thomas downloaded all the data in the Anima Knight project and with a though, his demonic energy seeped into the computer's core and destroyed it. Once he finished, he dived into the closest shadows.
Clarisse was in the surveillance room when she felt a hand on her shoulders. "Clarisse, we need to go now."
Then she turned and saw the purple eyes of Thomas fixed at the window. Thomas knew they were detected as the entire building was surrounded by the auras of three-star adepts. With the sun rising, his own demonic transformation started to wear off.
"Fine, I have everything I need as well."
Removing the cable connecting her wrist computer to the security terminal, Clarisse followed Thomas to the Roof. At this point the moonshadow partial transformation as orange mist replaced the purple in his eyes.
"Look, they are there. Remember to capture them!" The reinforcements had already arrived and upon seeing the two people in the roof started releasing their moves.
Anima energy lights rose from the ground towards Thomas and Clarisse but a light yellow symbol with the size of a head was a like a shield.
Pa!
It was over twelve energy bullets that hit the shield, the shield showed signs of creaking but not enough so it would break.
'Shit I can't uses' the moonshadow demon innate ability.' With the chance of moonshadow demonic energy to sunlight demonic energy, he had lost the ability to travel through shadows and could only leave in the old fashion way.
Before they could discuss a plan, a huge impact hit the roof as man as tall and burly as a gorila descended upon them with a barrage of Anima-infused punches.
"Haha, it's captain Ray!" The security guards of the facility cheered upon seeing it was the burly man that appeared.
One more yellow seal joined the first one and forms a defensive shield against the huge fists aimed at him and Clarisse.
As soon he blocked the first punch, a overwhelming shock wave sent him several steps back as a string of blood dyed his lips. "Shit, they have an Elite Adept."
Thomas felt an strange and invisible force enter his body when his adamantine seal block the punch, causing numerous hidden internal injuries in less than a second.
Black clouds covered the eyes of the burly Adept Ray who wasn't able to anything for a couple seconds.
'This guy is tricky.' He couldn't see a trace of energy within that man's body yet he felt a great threat.
Contrary to what others would think seeing see his burly body, this elite adept was very fast. Already reaching out for another hit. Thomas used his energy to form three partially formed whirlwind seals.
The crescent moon blade and fist clashed and nearly blew off the whole building with its impact.
Clarisse reached out with her arm as she casted one of the non-elemental incantations in her spellbook.
Thomas held onto his injured arm and took out a thin yellow paper, a special item he brought from the system store. and ripped it in half.
His body was covered in light yellow layer of energy as he turned to Clarisse. "Hold onto me."
The latter did as she was told and grabbed his back, in three seconds their bodies vanished in thin air only to appear miles away in the living room of Thomas house next to the bell lake.
