Without hesitation, Thomas who had just finished setting up the security system, he swept the sweat off his forehead. He paid an expensive amount of 400.000 to furnish the entire place and even more adept points to buy all sorts of special machinery and tools for his training chamber underneath the house.
Once Thomas got a good look at the place, he couldn't wait show this place to Clarisse. 'Maybe I should get a dog as well?'
Thomas seriously pondered about getting a dog, then changed his mind. He was having it easy now because of the training camp and the low-occurrence of spatial rifts these past few weeks, but how could this period of peace last long? He couldn't be sure how much free time he would get to spend with his dog, it was a responsibility he wasn't ready to take.
Maybe if it was a pet he could take along with him on battles? Thomas wondered if such a pet truly existed as he headed back to the camp.
On the way he spotted a few bloodied students returning from the camp after completing a mission. He didn't know what exactly was their mission, but looking from their state it was something pretty bad.
The students were all members of the various teams of the Bluewind City, once they spotted Thomas heading the same way as them, their faces turned strange, with eyes filled with respect, they smiled timidly at him as they chat among themselves.
"Look it's the Smasher!"
"Its that him? I thought he would be taller than that."
What Thomas didn't know was that what he did against the three adepts of the dark crow union had already like wildfire amongst the entire population of appendices in the training camp to the point he was already given the embarrassing nickname of Smasher.
"Stop! You cannot enter the girl's dormitory!" When Thomas headed to the female dormitory and was about to look for Clarisse, he saw that this time there was a old lady at the entrance that stopped him from getting any closer. It seemed a male adept had screwed up so badly that the organizers behind the camp had to put this old adept lady to guard the female dormitories.
As for what exactly he did, Thomas could only guess.
"Stop right there! You cannot enter the girl's dormitory!" When Thomas headed to the female dormitory and was about to look for Clarisse, he saw that this time there was a old lady at the entrance that stopped him from getting any closer. It seemed some male adept had screwed up so badly that the organizers behind the camp before there was not one guarding this place when he was here last time.
As for what exactly he did, Thomas could only guess.
"I'm here to look for my friend." Thomas replied while giving a honest smile.
The aunty glared at him as if she didn't buy into his words. "Looking for someone? Every boy who comes over says that. No excuses are accepted. You can contact her if you have her number, but you definitely can't enter."
"Fine." Thomas went to his wrist computer and sent a text to her: [I'm here at your dorms' door, come down here]
Exact five minutes later, Claire rushed out of the building, carrying two big cases and quickly running to him. "It took whole three days, is it ready?"
Thomas grinned and nodded: "Yes, I came here only to take you to the place. I 'have already gotten permission for you to leave as well."
Watching how the two got farther away, the old lady whose eyes were calm and gentle as the earth itself gave a soft sigh. "It has been so long since last time I woke up and I find this. A an human-spirit hybrid and a mortal bearing a trace of divinity. I wonder just how the old geezers up there will react to it..."
Once she finished, her body dispersed into a pile of dirt.
Without much problems, Thomas and Clarisse were able to sneak past the numerous adepts that were already used to the live in the Training Camp and took the path towards the Bell Plaza. Clarisse frowned once they got to the silent and desolate neighborhood, she knew this place has the ominous hazard level 5 which made even the homeless stay far away from there.
With the full vision of the famous Golden Bell lake that was the reason for the city's name, both Thomas and Clarisse felt pity for such a gorgeous scenery being left empty. In a short time they reached the house Thomas was talking about.
"This...!" Clarisse was stunned upon finding the "House" looked nothing like the pictures she had seen before.
Tall solid aloy walls were raised surrounding the building with gates with over 15mm thickness of pure metal. Cameras were placed in all entrances and other securities measures were still hidden to the eye as well many types of devices that were specially made to guard against Adepts.
"Are you sure this is a house and not a fortress?" Clarisse was overwhelmed by how much security and other devices Thomas had installed in this place. Most adepts didn't even care about such security since even the most expressive ones paled in front of a truly powerful adept.
"Of course it is a house, have a look inside." Stepping inside house, Clarisse took off her mask as she sighed in admiration.
The interiors were perfectly decorated and neatly arranged. Walking up the stairs, Thomas pointed at the room on the left.
"This one is my, the one on the right is yours. You are free to bring your belongings there if you will."
"This place is really good, thanks for letting me live with you." Clarisse felt her face heat up as she thanked then headed into her room with her belongings and closed the door.
'Ahhhhhh! I still can't believe I'm going to live with him!' Rolling on the bed, her face which was slightly flushed was now dyed in deep crimson, but she didn't dare to leave the room for the whole day. She didn't know how she was going to face him when she was this embarrassed.
"What is wrong with her?" Staring at the door that was closed at his face, Thomas felt deeply confused then chose to blame it on the fact women's thoughts were too mysterious for him and went downstairs to see the training chamber he prepared for himself.
