Chapter 73 - Fire Spirits

[I believe she's an otherworlder, more specifically a Fire Spirit.] (Kez'Ganak)

"Fire Spirit? You mean the creatures that serve the Sun Demon Tribes? Aunty Hannah, Clarisse's mother is a spirit?!" He was unable to compute this information. He was given information implanted on his mind when he first awakened the demonic physique so he naturally knew a little about them. Spirits were originally beings given birth by the most primal elements of nature.

When special type of flame or any other object developed its own conscience and transform into its primal form be it humanoid or something else, then a spirit would be born.

In the innate memories of the demon physique, there were some spirits that living among beasts and demons, forming a symbiotic relationship with the tribes of the demon worlds.

[Not necessary. Spirits live everywhere, a few of them do serve some of the powerful demon clans, but this does not apply to all their race. Long ago, father and I travelled a small planet in the Hexagon System, there I met the mysterious flame, direct descendants of a Spirit Clan from the superior Realms.]

"So aunt Hannah is also an spirit."

[Truth be told, I felt something similar towards that little friend of yours. Only that her daughter is most certainly a pure human. This is getting interesting...]

His surprise was so great Thomas had forgotten his demon transformation was active. Yet, once he thought about, he knew his gentle aunty Hannah wouldn't do anything to hurt him. His told him that she could be trusted.

On the other hand, Hannah was the most surprised about this situation. She had just arrived here in the city when she had felt the presence of a strong demon air close to her daughter's location and headed there immediately.

How would she expect this strong demon presence would turn out to be her daughter's crush from middle school. 'Purple Moon Demon? No, its own his physique that's special, his blood is still that of a human so it is really Thomas...'

After a while, Thomas recovered from the shock and saw Hannah was facing him with a strange gaze.

"I guess we have a lot to talk about."

Since both were already far away from any signs of civilization, they found a place to sit. During this short time, Thomas had exchanged words with Kez'ganak and so was able to formulate a plan.

Once they sat down, Hannah initiated the conversation." Thomas, why do you have Moon Demon Power in you?"

This was the thing she most wanted to know. Of course, it wasn't impossible for other races to acquire some demonic power but it would never be as pure as this. If she couldn't see the red blood on the corner of his lips, she would have thought a demon had exchanged places with Thomas.

"Well, you must have heard about my situation back in the Dexia Institute from mom. I was out in the city hutting some gray demons when he appeared..." Then Thomas told the story of how he met Kez and received his power while only changing a few details. During the entire time, Hannah was silinte and pondering about his words.

According to her information, only the weaker demon tribes had eyes on humanity so why would a member of the moon demons appear here?

'If the other tribes are starting to get curious towards this planet, it won't be safe to stay here anymore.'

When he finished recounting the story, Thomas was staring at Hannah's face. "Aunty, are you truly an spirit?"

Her body turned stiff upon hearing that question, and she moved a few steps back in surprise, "Where did you heard it?! Cough, Aham..."

Hannah recovered from her sudden reaction and answered once she was calm. "Right, you awakened some inherited memories along with your physique. Since there is no need to hide anymore, I will want you to promise to keep this a secret from my daughter."

Thomas understood her reasons and gave a nod. "Fine, I won't tell anything, but if discovers it by herself then..."

Hannah lowered her head as she replied. "Then there is nothing I can do. I will thankful as long you fulfill you word. Before you, only my husband knew of this secret."

'Ohh.' Thomas frowned, he heard from his mother that Christopher Scott, Clarisse's dad passed away, Clarisse herself didn't mention anything when they were together though. So he did know his wife wasn't human...

"And your eldest son? I saw him recently working with an."

The second he mentioned her son, Thomas noticed the light change in her eyes.

The silence extended for some time before he heard a sad voice. "I know. He has always been quite the rebellious child, sometime he will come to his senses."

"It's fine then." Thomas stood up. "It's late so I must be going back soon. Its was good to have this talk with you."

"I agree. Wait, do you need to take you back?"

"Not at all. There at least one more thing I got to show you." With his hands at waist, bowing, Thomas dissolved into his own shadow, appearing in a dark alley in the Lakebell City.

Left alone amongst the rocks, Hannah was staring at where Thomas was standing just a second ago, thinking she must've heard it wrongly.

'What is this?' As a fire spirit she had seen many things when passing by the many planets in this galaxy, but its the first time she saw a demon having this sort of ability.

After a single second, she calmed down. A pair of blood red flaming wings spread out from her back as she flew away.
