Chapter 69 - Written Exam

Vander was visibly shaken. As a member of the family with connections to the high members of the association, they knew fully well how important and precious were this training camp they organized here.

More specifically the resources invested in this place that had attracted his family's attention, if he could exchange for some of the products disponible in this place the Hart family would grow much stronger.

The problem was that this camp was specifically planned to grow adepts living in the border with the rift in the sky of A-city.

Those that didn't got a spot with the Adept Teams from the three western cities or belonged to other places had to pay for a spot.

Just the fact his own family had to pay over 10 billion for a single spot while the adepts from Dexia, Lakebell and Bluewind were given one for free made him really angry.

As for the special spot, forget about a price since the association made it clear it was only for the true talents.

Meeting Thomas who looked just like any other pleb made him fairly excited, thinking he could find a way to take the special-grade spot from him, and if thing comes to worst he could just trick Thomas into selling his spot to him.

In fact, Thomas had seen through his intentions when his skill had activated which made him re-evaluate the importance of this place.

But when seeing the girl that had just arrived, he knew his chance had been lost and sneaked away without attracting attention.

'....' The girl gave a cold snort when seeing his departing silhouette then turned to Thomas, her expression easing immediately. "So you are the special-grade participant? You should be careful around him, he's only interested in you special spot."

"Thanks, I should keep that in mind." Nodding, Thomas left and continued to walk around the camp for a little more before heading to the northern wing building.

Just as he got to the northern wing building, a middle-aged man at the door handed him a box with a pair of reality-enhancing lens.

Multiple schools used this enhanced reality technology in order to do examinations, so he was already used to it.

As the he entered the area for the written, he noticed that there were only a few empty seats left and most of the participants had already found their seats. Not managing to find Clarisse in the crowd, Thomas went to the closest seat and he could find.

Thomas sat there and connected the desk to his wrist computer a put on the pair of lens just like he was used to back in Dexia institute and he could already see a 55 inch screen and a keyboard floating right in front of him.

Waving his right finger over the desk, he went to the options bar and chose to configure the keyboard size and color just like everybody else before the exam finally started.

[Question 1: What are the uses for Anima Energy in Combat?]

[Question 2: At what level can Anima energy can be condensed into material form?]

[Question 3: What is the order for all the levels and grades of Anima Techniques?]

The examination main subject was Anima Energy, Adept Physiology, Combat Tactics and Dimensional Biology. What was good is that most of these questions were the same that used to appear on Institute tests which made him pretty relaxed.

He would not say that he liked it, it was more something that was forced on him.

In the three years he lived as a trash in the eyes of others, studying was the only thing he could do wherever he was not training. As a result, he knew fairly well about the most basic and some intermediary questions.

'wow, this thing is pretty easy, don't even need ' As Thomas advanced question after question, the deities of the system sighed with surprise.

Most of the theories and knowledge written on this test were things many of those old beings could have never guessed.

Not knowing how much time has passed, he finally stopped at the last question.

[Question 67: An city located in a isolated location has been invaded and surrounded dimensional creatures. Currently, there are only one Adept Master, 500 1-3 star Adepts and 800 soldiers guarding the city while over 700.000 civilians are hiding in the city while the enemy numbers are counted over 40.000 with unknown level of strength.

The the association in the two closest cities has been contacted but reinforcements can only arrive in nine to ten hours. Under such a circumstance, some civilians lost their mind and started causing chaos on the streets.

As the commander of the city's defense force, what would you to ensure the security of the civilians and giving enough time for the reinforcements to arrive?]

Thomas didn't know what was the purpose of this question, but it felt like suspicious. As the city located most far from away at the border of the safe zone, Dexia City fitted too well in the role.

'I see.' In case this question was really referring to a place similar to Dexia City, Thomas entered deep thought and started performing a simulation in his mind.

After a long period pondering about the question, Thomas hesitated for a moment before typing furiously with his fingers flying over the keyboard in a graceous movements.

Perhaps because of an increase in Dexterity as well as other attributes, he could move on speeds beyond human capability, something that didn't escape the eyes of the examiners despite not being able to see the screen or keyboard.

Once he finished, He did not even read through it again and press the confirm bottom and kept in his seat waiting for examiners to allow who finished the exam to leave.

Before the answers reach the teachers, all the test form were processed by the quantum computer in the center of the training camp and once no signs of cheating were detected would be sent over to professionals to correct.
