Friday, my day. I turned on the hot shower trying to wipe the tiredness off of me. I had a long night ahead and I wanted to be on my A game.
Getting out and wrapping a towel around me, I looked through my closet. A particular red number caught my eye, reminding me of a particular memory. Like every other dress.
A chuckle of approval escaped my lips as I looked back at my reflection. The strapless dress just halting mid thigh. Adjusting the brooch attached to the belt, I grabbed my clutch and walked out.
The Lights. My favourite bar for the night. As I walked in I got a few more stares than usual. Maybe my dress or my new bob. A man offered his hand when I reached the bar to help me onto the stool. Although I accepted the chivalry, I knew it was anything but that.
A trap, sweet one at that. I liked the chase but most of the times I did not need to. For instance, like with this guy who offered his supposed chivalry.
I turned to the dance floor with my vodka and was leaning against the counter. I was watching the sensual energy bubbling through the place when I heard the man.
"You're a regular." It was a statement, I wasn't surprised. "Oh?", my one word response made him chuckle. "And experienced." Again a statement.
At this I laughed aloud, turning towards him. "You must be an accomplished player."
He looked good, but I was not sure. Everyone looked good when you're buzzed. But he had such pretty eyes. Pretty but mysterious.
His eyes reflected the dim lights of the bar as they became hooded. Flashing a crooked smile he snaked his arm around my waist pulling me against him. "Would you test my accomplishment then?"
"Why do I get the feeling...", I stalled running a hand along his jaw line. "...that you're all bark and no bite?" My fingers stopped at the corner of his lips as I raised a challenging eye brow.
His hand moved lower to cup my butt cheek, elucidating a laugh out of me. "Challenging me, beautiful?" He squeezed my bottom, pulling me closer against him.
I mentally sighed. That guy was boring, if not utterly clueless. "Nope", I slowly shook my head as I detangled out of his hold. "I can foresee how 'accomplished' you would be." Leaning down to give him a kiss on his cheek, I turned to leave, when I promptly felt a hand on my back, pulling the zipper down.
My hands flew to my chest in shock and I turned back around, raising my other hand but he grabed it pinning it behind me. The next thing I felt was his lips on me, firm and rough, as he pulled me flesh against him.
In the moment it took for me recollect myself his hand was pushing past my open back tracing my sides. I was seeing red. He has manged to push me against the wall and his tongue teased my lips, forcibly. That was when I kneed him making him stumble away.
He was holding himself with a scrunched up face, doubling over, groaning and cursing. "Shit... Argh."
I was going to sass him before walking away when I felt someone grabbing me from behind pulling me with them. The bouncers.
I started to kick my legs and yell since my one hand was busy holding my dress and other in arrest by the guys. "You're supposed to throw him out. He was harassing me. Dimwits!"
But I was not thrown out of the bar. Instead into a car which started to speed away seconds later the bouncer got in. "The hell do you think you're doing? Let me out! Let me out!"
I started to scream and kick trying to reach the door handle. My heart was ramming against my chest, a mile a minute. I could feel the bile rising in my throat as my vision spun. I was flailing my arms kicking the guy to my left and elbowing the one on my right when a hand grabbed my neck and pushed me down, almost choking me.
I felt the zipper being pulled up when one of them spoke in a slow, quiet voice. "We will drop you home if you stop this fiasco." He was still holding me down by my neck and I was finding it difficult to breathe.
"W-ho are y-ou?" I choked out trying to pry his hand away. "Can't brea-the." He loosened his hold on me. But still, holding me down.
"No time for inane questions." He responded in a clipped tone and released me. I straightened up gasping for breath, feeling like I was going to pass out. I turned to look out the window and indeed it was my neighbourhood.
Now I was confused. If they were that guy's men, I should be in trouble, not home. If they were not, then I'm in trouble.
No, not because they knew my address or me. But because of how. I was not ready for the confrontation yet. Not so soon and not before the promise expired.
I felt nauseous. As soon as the car stopped, my heart stopped. "Nate."
My head started to spin from the alcohol and assault. I felt sick. And just like that I puked my guts out onto the asphalt. Next thing I knew, I was falling. Everything went black.
