Druss cringed in pain as the flood of memories hit his head as well as new knowledge and something else. As he finally was able to lift his head he was greeted by a notification "system reintegration complete. Welcome back host Druss."
J was astonished. He had remembered being a host before to the system on another world. He had fought hard and won the tournament on that world. Odin had rewarded him by removing the system and placing him on earth. Earth had been Odin's retirement home for his champions. A place they could live normal lives.
After remembering all this Druss looked at Odin: " so what were the flashes and who robbed me of my family!?"
Odin only gestured to the Earth. Time started to flow forward again and Druss watched as ships fired bombs on to the planet all around at once. These bombs wiped out only human life on the planet.
Odin spoke up slowly. "Another god named chaos has always hated me. He has always been jealous of my humans from Earth. Finally he was able to have his champion win the last game... His chosen boon was that Earth would host the next tournament. While i fought this it was useless and the gods ordered Earth renovated for the tournament. See even now some humans are returning as a base population. Sadly you were targeted and while I saved you for my champion, I was unable to save your loved ones or mine."
It was then he remembered his wife had been sheltered by Odin due to her childhood traumas. He had truly helped her in finding Druss and a good life.
Druss smiled sadly and thanked Odin for the time he had with them. He was now focused on one thing: winning this tournament and killing chaos.
Odin smiled sadly. "I was able to give your old system back. You will be level 1 again but due to winning I was able to give it some boosts. You also will remember all your old combat knowledge earned from fighting and not levels. Same for any other information you have aquired. Now choose your class and I will put you back into your home. "
Druss looked up as the system gave him a list of options:

Druss remembered these classes and had been a paladin in his previous tournament. However, this unique random option was not available. Without hesitation Druss selected the random class.
