As he was walking out of the shop he sighed.
Why did I tell that girl my real name? He thought to himself. The truth was, his uncle was the "great knight" of the kingdom. (Which meant that he was to be the next great knight since he had no parents and his uncle had no children or wife.)
But there was only one reason he went all the way here in this small city. That was because one of his only memories of his mother was buying sourdough from that specific shop. Since her brother was a great knight and her husband (his dad) was a businessman, she had plenty of money. But that shop had some of the best sourdoughs in the entire kingdom. It was their favorite snack, and hers too. Thinking about it always got him teary-eyed, but he stopped himself before that. What would his uncle think, he thought to himself if he caught his 23-year-old nephew crying about sourdough? He chuckled to himself. He'd probably tell him to man up and clean his armor. He peeled off the foil, took a bite out of it, and continued forward.
