Chapter 17 - Blinding Paradigm

Unlike the history class, where the teacher was the last to enter, Myles was the first to arrive in the training center to wait for the students.

'It seems that everyone has already arrived...'

But before he could finish his thought, the automatic door of the building's entrance opened... Ayden arrived just in time!

He came running from his dorm to the training center, which is near the entrance of the military school, covering a distance of nine kilometers in less than ten minutes! he is sweating considerably!

This was only possible because he maintained his speed of 15 m/s by using his ability which now no longer seems to put too much pressure on his body and because of his blood, which now has fewer impurities, increasing his oxygenation and decreasing fatigue.

Looking at the student who arrived at the last minute, Myles realizes that he was the same one tha was in the front of the last batch of students.

He clearly remembers that when he saw him for the first time, the boy didn't even have an open meridian, but now, he appears with all of them open?

'Interesting,' he thought.

Seeing that now all students are present, he decides to start the class.

"let's all go to the fifth floor, our class will be in the gymnasium."

Without much delay, everyone was already in the gymnasium center, an incredibly spacious underground location with bleachers and some pieces of equipment. It will be used during all combat-related classes and during future internal military base events.

"Now that all the brats are here listen carefully! Our first combat class will be about fundamental martial arts techniques. Using your abilities in combat is completely acceptable, but you must know how to use your body both for defense and attack."

With the appearance of skills, the use of martial arts began to fall into disuse. People began to place more value on improving and practicing their skills rather than hand-to-hand techniques.

As much as Mea is widely used to strengthen these skills, it has countless other incredible uses. But the individuals of this new generation appear to have completely forgotten.

Why take a chance on melee when you can attack your enemy from a long-distance? This is what many believe. For them, it is simply not worth the effort. For Myles, this is the biggest problem of the new generation, devaluing things that should not be devalued.

Even before the appearance of these "Enlightened," people used Mea to create fire with their own hands, control objects with their minds, and other incredible feats. In the view of Myles, who comes from an old family of martial artists, even though the emergence of these skills helped during humanity's greatest crisis, it ended up somewhat weakening Mea's knowledge and use.

Now that he has become a teacher, he intends, through his classes, to change the minds of his students. That way, he will generate a domino effect, which will only bring positive results in the future.

Unfortunately, he is one of the only people who have this mentality and are aware of the true potential of Mea. Meanwhile, most people just think that it is a fuel used by skills. So he intends to nurture potential students who will demonstrate potential and mindset similar to his own.

"During my class the use of skills is strictly prohibited, but don't worry, use will be allowed during certain classes." said Myles as he waited to see the reactions of the class.

Expressions of surprise and contempt can be seen everywhere, with only a few exceptions.

"What is this bullshit?"

"I have a friend who is part of another class, and his combat teacher never implied that kind of rule!"

"As far as I know, I learned that the teacher's ability is very weak, maybe that's why he made this rule... he must be afraid of being embarrassed among the students!"

Clearly, most students were not at all happy with the creation of this rule. They grew up using their skills and listening to things like "Your skill defines your future and strength," so that result was somewhat expected.

'So this is how it will be ... luckily it seems that some didn't care much about that rule,' thought Myles.

Among those few students who did not squander negative reactions was Ayden.

he sighed sadly. "I am the teacher, and that is my decision. If you are unsatisfied, talk to the principal."

"We have already lost too much time of our class, so we better start." he finished by snapping his fingers, causing a large screen in augmented reality with basic martial arts instructions to appear right behind him and some smaller ones next to the students.

"I want you all to carefully read every detail and movement present in the instructions, feel free to take advantage of the size of the space around us to practice, after a while I will demonstrate the correct execution of the movements for everyone."

Most of the young people present looked with disinterest at the martial art, but they will need a good grade if they want to pass, so they started to read the content present in the small interactive screens of augmented reality.

Ayden, very interested in improving his combat techniques since even his skill revolves around that, decides to get away from the group and go to a more secluded corner of the gymnasium where he can practice without disturbing anyone.

He has never practiced this type of thing before, so he only knows how to execute basic punches and kicks with no basis or technique behind them.

Without thinking too much, he starts reading.
