Shen swung his sword for the 50th time today. He was currently in a field training in an attempt to protect his family, but his results were.. sad.
Although Shen had been cultivating for a year now, the only thing he had done was add more impurities to himself.
"Why am I so untalented!" Shen shouted frequently in his mind as he struck his sword. The only thing the boy did have for him was his hard work.
Shen had already long since passed the prime age of 13 to cultivate. Today was his 16th birthday.
As Shen had swung his sword for the final time today, he fell to the ground in exhaustion. Sweat dripping from his forehead as he laid there.
"I will be powerful enough to protect my family. I will not stop!" Shen punched the ground and immediately regretted it. The pain surged through his brain in jolts.
"Ugh.. I hate my life." Shen sighed and picked himself up off of the ground.
As he was walking back to his house he was met with the two pathways he was used to taking.
One pathway would lead straight to his house, an easy path, but safe.
The other pathway was a slight detour and led into the forest, it was a more difficult path, as well as it was potentially dangerous.
".. I can't afford to be safe any more. I will go all out!" Shen shouted to himself to boost his own courage and to get his blood pumping. If there was danger, he would be ready.
Shen stomped in the direction of the difficult path with a smile. Who knows, maybe today was his lucky day?
The surroundings changed as Shen walked, beautiful flowers surrounded the pathway with trees that stretched to the skies. Paired with the beautiful clouds today it was quite breathtaking.
"I didn't choose the wrong path it seems." Shen smiled and slowed down his walking pace to enjoy the surroundings.
Soon 10 minutes easily passed. As Shen was walking something strange happened.
*BOOOM*
An explosion occurred near Shen. He jumped back and looked at the area with curiosity.
Soon 30 minutes passed. Shen was just too cautious. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened. Seeing this, he began to walk towards the area where it happened.
In a crater was a book with the words "Purify" written on it.
"What is this?! Is this an immortals treasure!? It probably fell straight from the sky!" Shen ran up to it and when he grabbed it, it sucked straight into his body.
".. Well that's great. Guess my treasures gone." Shen continued on to the path home.
