Chapter 15 - 14

The snow fell from the greyscale sky. They were soft and light just like white yarn. It would not hurt like the weight of the rain. Hurt our skin and fall on the head like hundreds of tiny weights. The weight of the cold rain cannot be compared to the cotton like snow. However, rain and snow are not really very different. They both fall from the sky and the pattern of blood they make on them is beautiful and unique. One shines and other sublimes. Blood on both snow and rain spatter and disappears in its innate domain. One can only contemplate the mysterious patterns they both make.

Elijah was out on hunt today. He hunts people he feels are unworthy of living. Clearing the limbo of its demons one by one, devouring them and punishing them for their sins. Greed, lust, envy and gluttony …he observes the people and their sins to hunt them for their damnation.

Elijah had powers to see the demons. Beelzebub, Mammon and lucifer each of them were present in the souls of the people like a black mass. He sees these demons lurking in the hearts of the people just like his uncle and kills to exorcise them. His uncle could not do so. He was weak and delicate. All he could do was fear them and their city shutting himself in the small church, praying and fasting day and night. But Elijah was different, he was strong and determined. He may not be the son of God but he was still a messiah that his uncle cared about. He was the only one now who could save this city that is purged in evil. Protect the weak and slay the evil because his uncle taught his to. Elijah was the only one to do so because he was not the son of God but the spawn of Satan.

The place he was going today was possessed by Asmodeus, the demon of lust. He was going to hunt down the man and purify him from all the evils. The demon had taken the body of Holland Malcolm who was a famous singer in a bar. It was spreading it influence of him, slowly devouring his soul and sinking him into the abyss.

Dressed in his pastor clothes which his uncle lovingly sew for him on his seventeenth birthday. He wore it as a remembrance to carry out the will of his uncle. It was seven in the evening and Holland Malcolm would have now finished his show and retiring for the day with a woman or two. He was the same age as Elijah, handsome like Elijah, with light red coloured hair and a long moustache on his tanned brown chiselled skin. Thinking about him Elijah affirmed himself that the man in question was neither more perfect nor beautiful than him. The only person who was ever comparable to his beauty was his uncle.

Elijah was a well-known figure in the city. He was intelligent and kind with a perfect smile. His brown hair was as dark as the woods and his eyes looked like amber. His face was pale but not too pale which would give him a sickly look, his body was lean and muscular. He ate well and loved coffee projecting the example of a perfect man. He used to dress in pastors' clothes on every Friday and hunt for prey once in three weeks. His prey weeks ago was a man possessed by Mammon, the demon of greed who was successfully exorcised.

The snow was falling heavily now. Elijah walked briskly towards his prey coincidently who stood alone right now. The adrenaline rush and the face of the demon within his heart gave Elijah shivers. He wanted to hunt him, eat him up and exorcize him. He wanted the black mass in his heart to disappear as he feels the satisfaction that he once again fulfilled the will of his uncle who lived within his spirit.

The snow on the ground made a shuffling sound muffling his true intentions in its purity. He could see the red head, his drunken face which was filled with lust. He looked like a man who had made a deal with the devil clearing Elijah of any suspicion. All he needed to do now was to get close to him and attack the man with his knife.

'Hello! Are you Mr. Malcolm? I am a big fan of yours.' Elijah smiled warmly looking at him with cold eyes. He was cautious of his prey escaping his grasp thus he remained a little away from him.

'Huh? A priest? What do you want?' Malcolm said in a drunken stupor. He looked to intoxicated to get a hold of his surroundings.

'Hello Mr Malcom! I am a great fan of yours so if you do not mind may I have your autograph?' He said once again.

'Oh!! So now priests like you listen to blues? Your crazy fucker wants an autograph? Come over here bitch.' Malcolm waved at him dismissively.

'Ah! Thank you' Elijah said as we pounced on the man with the same knife he used when cutting the ropes tied to the neck of his uncle. On that day he swore to never disappoint the dead man and to never forget him. The knife which was blunt with the thick coating of blood from many people served the purpose of holy water for the soul of his beloved.

Elijah slit Malcolm's throat as he said a small prayer in his ears. The man was stronger than most of his prey, taking his own sweet time to die.

'I never thought that a man could like for seven minutes after I slit their throats. It seems like the knife is getting blunt with the layers of blood on it' he said as he crouched over to check the man who had stopped struggling now.

'Seems like the prey was quite healthy just like the sin in his heart. I will be having a good meal tonight' Elijah smacked his lips and licked the blood on his hands. He started feeling hungry on thinking about the appetizing meal.

**THUD**

'Hmm..what is it?' He looked around the street which was deserted and filled with snow. They were at the back alley of the club where people threw garbage, so there was a chance that an employee while working saw them.

'Aha..Found you.' Elijah whispered to himself as he spotted the trembling silhouette. It was scrawny that looked like a boy of no more than eighteen winters. He could not see features of the person clearly but sensing the intensity of their fear he thought that there was no way he was going to report him. Even if he tried to be brave, Elijah was not afraid of getting caught or dying. He was a careless killer who intentionally left his trail behind. As god wills it, he was never once caught or found himself getting investigated. He was not afraid because he knew that what he was doing was right so even God and Satan protects him. He tried to squint his eyes to look more closely at the trembling lamb.

'No…way ….that cannot be possible!!!' His mouth was agape , eyes filled shock and horror.

The boy although not clearly visible had blonde hair.
